Uses for Freezer Paper

Freezer paper may not be something that everyone has, but here in the South it is quite common. Freezer paper is commonly used to wrap meat in to store in the freezer for later use. Like I said, this is the common use for freezer paper, but it is not the only use.

Do you need to trace something but do not have any tracing paper? Pull out that roll of freezer paper and use it. Freezer paper is translucent so it works great. It is also heavier than real tracing paper so it may even work better for your project.

Do you have a little one that loves to finger paint? There is no reason to go out an buy expensive paper for them to paint on. The waxy side of the freezer paper works just great.

Freezer paper can also be used to line shelves and drawers. Simply measure the shelf or drawer where it will be placed then cut the freezer paper to fit. Freezer paper is cheaper than traditional shelf paper so you can replace as often as you wish.

Have you ever wished your cutting board was larger? Here is a simple solution. Cover your cabinet top with a piece of freezer paper then get busy dicing, mincing and chopping vegetables for that perfect meal.

Freezer paper is an excellent alternative to traditional wrapping paper for any gift. For Christmas presents use stickers or other decorative ideas to make the wrapping more festive and do the same for birthdays or other gift giving occasions. Freezer paper can also be used to wrap packages to be mailed.

Have you decided to have a party outside and need to cover a picnic table? Often times picnic tables will need to be covered so simply pull out your freezer paper, unroll it, waxy side up, down the length of the table and cut off the amount desired. You may have to overlap two pieces to get it wide enough depending on the width of the freezer paper you have. Now take the freezer paper tape that you bought with the freezer paper and tape the paper to the underside of the table.

One last thing that freezer paper can be used for is as a pastry bag. Form a cone with the freezer paper with the waxy side inside the cone. This pastry cone works best with soft foods such as whipping cream, cake icing or even mashed potatoes.

Freezer paper comes in large rolls and often times there is quite a lot of it left after the initial reason it was bought. Luckily it is very handy to have around because there is so much that can be done with it.
