Have you just finished cutting up an onion, or better yet, do your hands smell fishy? If you can answer yes to these questions you may be interested in knowing that lemon juice will help with this problem. You will need some powdered mustard and lemon juice. Sprinkle some powdered mustard on your hands, add enough lemon juice to your hands and the powdered mustard to make a paste. Rub this paste into your hands like using soap, then wash them using soap and water. Repeat if needed.
If your house smells like your hands just did from handling onions and/or fish, lemon juice can be used to get rid of the odor. For this smell eradication, pierce a lemon then put it in a 300 degree oven. Leave the pierced lemon in the oven for about fifteen minutes and leave the door to the oven open some during this time as well.
Do you need a way to clean those ivories on your favorite piano? Once again lemon juice can help with the problem. You will need some salt and some lemon juice. Take two parts salt and one part lemon juice and create a paste with it. Use a damp cloth and put the paste on the piano keys then use another damp cloth to remove the lemon and salt mixture. Buff the keys with a soft, dry cloth.
Have you ever sliced an apple and only needed part of it? Moms find this happening to them nearly every time they slice an apple for a child, especially a young one. Did you know that if you coat the part of the apple that has been sliced with lemon juice that it will no turn brown?
Has your sponge become soured? If so, lemon juice will take that smell out if you saturate the sponge with lemon juice. After using the lemon juice on the sponge, rinse it with water real good. Now it smells better.
Have you decided you need a pore cleanser? Nearly everyone has at one time or another. Did you know that you do not have to spend big money on one at the closest store. All you need is the juice of half a lemon, a quart of boiling water and a couple of tablespoons of either dried mint or thyme. Combine all these ingredients and steam your face for about 15 minutes. Be sure to keep a distance of about a foot above the pan that the mixture is boiling in. After steaming, rinse your face with cold water.
To heal a blemish or pimple, simply put some lemon juice on it several times a day. Before you know it the blemish or pimple will be cleared up.
Has your lettuce become soggy instead of remaining crisp? This can be fixed with lemon juice and cold water. Add the juice of half a lemon to the lettuce in the bowl of cold water and leave in the refrigerator for about an hour. It should crisp right back up.
Lemon juice can be rubbed on bathroom fixtures that are stained. Mix borax and the lemon juice to create a paste then rub on the enamel fixtures or simply use the cut lemon. Rinse when finished.
Your hair can be lightened by combing lemon juice throughout your hair. Try to do this evenly then allow it to dry while working on your sun tan. If you do this everyday for about a week you should see a difference in your hair color.
If you want to do a fingernail treatment on your hands, use warm water and the juice of half a lemon to soak your fingers in for about five minute. After soaking, gently push the cuticles back the rub the peel of the lemon up and down against the fingernails.
