Pendant. Many earrings would make a lovely pendant. Just add a simple jump ring or other accessory to the earring and it's ready to loop onto a necklace. If your single earring is made of real precious metal and stones you may even consider taking it a jeweler to have a loop adhered to the top for a finished look. Many single earrings make great necklace pendants.
Recreate a match. Is the earring a beaded one? If your single earring is a beaded earring, there is a chance that you may be able to recreate a match for it. Check out a local bead store and ask the employees if they can match your earring. You might be surprised by the answer! I lost a favorite earring a few years ago. My husband took the remaining single earring to a bead store and the jewelers at the store were able to create an almost identical match from their supplies. If your single earring is beaded, try recreating a match before you throw it out.
Crafting supplies. A single earring often makes a great crafting supply. Try dissembling the single earring and using the different components for crafting projects. Greeting cards, scrapbooks, and more can benefit from a little sparkle provided by a single earring. If you can't find a use for the earring for your own crafting, add it to your child's craft box so her creativity can rework it.
Decorative push pin. Many homes and most offices use corkboards to display notes, photos, and messages. A single earring, if it has a post back, can make a perfect push pin for your corkboard. Who needs plain plastic push pins? Try utilizing all of your single earrings as push pins on your favorite corkboard. Everyone that sees it will be so impressed with your unique and lovely note holders.
Don't throw away a single earring! With just a little creativity, a single earring can be transformed into a variety of wonderful uses.
