Once again a new weight loss product is on the market. Alli claims to block fat in your diet enabling you to lose 50% more weight than you would without the product. Consider for a minute what this means. If go on a diet that would cause you to lose 10 pounds, for example, you could expect to lose 15 pounds with Alli. There is no real way to measure this because there is no way to know how much you would have lost without the product. The only way to really know if you are losing weight with Alli is to compare your results to weight loss results in your past without using Alli.
Also you should keep in mind that 50% of nothing is nothing. Losing weight with Alli requires you to put forth some effort on your own in order for Alli to work for you. One of Alli's best features is that it does help you do this, although sometimes in undesirable ways.
Alli's claims are that it blocks fat that your body would otherwise absorb. If you are using Alli for weight loss, you have to train yourself to consume very little fat. If you consume too much fat, Alli kicks in and removes the fat for you. This can, and often does, result in a loss of control over your bowels. Alli itself recommends that you wear dark pants when using the product. Think about that for a few minutes.
If you can discipline yourself to eat less fat and fewer calories, you are likely to lose weight. Alli can help by disciplining you, in a way, by giving you undesirable side effects when you eat too much fat.
Alli is worth it for some people and not worth it for others. Alli is more expensive that some other weight loss products, so it makes sense to consider Alli carefully before you decide to try it.
Many people have had success with Alli. This is combined with a reasonable diet. Exercise also helps, as always.
The bottom line is that Alli is not a weight loss scam. It does have an effect, but not a huge one. You have to work with Alli in order to be successful.
