Try saying "get Stoned" in an elevator or at work and see what happens, even if talking to your Android powered smart phone. With the new, innovative and "smart" search app called "Gesture Search", embarrassing search queries are a thing of the past, as is entering the entire name of the file, which can sometimes be extremely long. You can search for contacts in your ever growing contact's list on your Android phone, a favorite song, or find that last file you were working on. In order to use Gesture Search with networked components, like your laptop or work desktop computer, though, you will have to download any apps that run in conjunction with your networked computer, as well as have that computer turned on, and running online.
One of the best features of using the Gesture Search app on Android smart phones is the search suggestions, and searching via voice commands. When using search suggestions, you simply write the first letters of the song, picture, file name or whatever you are trying to access using your Android smart phone onto the phone's touch screen display, by using your finger or a touch screen stylus pen. A list of everything that you have stored anywhere in your smart phone connected network that begins with those letters is displayed.
Of course, if your Android-powered smart phone is not connected to your computer or laptop, then it will only search it's own memory. As you add more letters to your search query, the list of returns grows shorter and shorter, until you find what you are looking for. Tap on the file name and you have access to what you were searching for.
The same can be done using voice commands when searching your Android smart phone connected network for any kind of data. Say the name of the file that you are searching for, or the name of the app that you want to open, and it is displayed, along with any other filenames that come close to what you said. As voice command technology improves, there is still the chance of contaminating noise, like elevator music, traffic, or people talking nearby interrupting your search query, and adding a bunch of returns that are not even close to what you were looking for.
As with using search suggestions, when using voice search, the previously returned files associated with certain words or phrases that was opened when last used will be on the top of returned items when you speak the same, or a similar query again in the future. Try using the voice command option when in a quiet place for best results.
Each time you use Gesture Search, the filename or contact is stored under the first letter that you wrote, and will be displayed at the top of the list of returns the next time you write that letter first on your Android phone. While writing a filename or contact, if you make a mistake, say write an "h" instead of an "a", you can cross out the last letter or space written by crossing the entry right to left. Crossing the entry left to right will erase the entire query, allowing you to start over again.
Enjoy using the new Gesture Search app for Android-powered smart phones today, and make finding contacts, files, songs and other data stored on your smart phone all the much easier.
