Using Artificial Plants for Decoration and Design

Why More Homeowners Are Choosing Fake Foliage for Their Indoor Spaces

R
True gardeners would probably never be caught dead using artificial plants - also often called fake flowers - in or around their home, but a lot of people don't have time to garden or just aren't that good at it. They use artificial plants so they can have a great-looking home without all the upkeep.

Fake plants can also be great for homes where there are small children or pets, because real plants are tempting and sometimes they are eaten. Pets and children can get very sick from eating certain types of plants, but they won't have much interest in munching on the artificial ones.

Fake plants come in all shapes and sizes. You can get greenery, or you can get flowers - and you can find a combination of these, as well. No matter what kind of look you're going for in your home or office you can get it, and some people also put fake plants outside in their flower beds to brighten them up, especially in cold or dreary weather.

If you're thinking about buying fake plants, there are several things you want to consider. Whether you want greenery only, flowers only, or a combination of the two is important, but it's not the only issue. You should also measure the space so you don't overcrowd it with plants.

Too many plants will look like a jungle, collect dust, and become a haven for spiders and insects. Those kinds of things are easy to avoid, but only if you think them through and pay attention to the size of the space that you have and what kinds of plants will look best in it.

You can get fake plants and artificial flowers online, in your local chain retailer, or through specialty stores. You can also usually pick some up at thrift stores or garage sales. If you buy them this way, inspect them carefully and make sure that they're still in good condition.

The more realistic an artificial plant looks the more it will generally cost, but even the lower-cost options are better quality than they used to be, so your options for artificial plants to decorate your space are almost endless.

We provide artificial flowers and have found that if they look fake at all then people just don't want to buy them. Our customers love the realistic artificial flowers and plants.

I am a true plant lover. Although, it took me some time and patience to obtain the green thumb. However, I don't agree with one mention reason for buying fake plants...to eliminate dust collecting in your home. I find that people with fake plants collect more dust than that of those who have only real plants. FYI real plants need to Breathe. Who cleans fake plants? Thus, I do agree that if you just don't have the time or patience then getting one fake plant would be best. Just keep it clean fake or real.
