Using Backgrounds for MySpace

When I first found, and heard of MySpace, I thought, "What is so great about this? Anyone can learn to make a webpage and post it on the internet" I did not know much about MySpace, and learned that it can promote your business or yourself because it is one of the largest networking sites on the internet. It was interesting to find that many people that I linked to kept changing their background of their page almost daily. This made me wonder if these people really did anything at all. I was thinking they spend a lot of time coding in all of that stuff to change their page.

Ah! I found out by checking out on Google that there are several websites out there that have their own code source you can copy and paste in your "About Me" section of your profile at MySpace and change the entire look of it. Well, since then I have frequently changed the background for MySpace on my profile, but not near as often as others have. I don't even have enough pictures of myself to change on a weekly or monthly basis. Anyway, changing the background seems to make a world of difference on MySpace. I have currently changed mine for St. Patrick's Day, which after that it will change again.

When googling for places to find source coding, I found a few places that are worth mentioning.

Free Code Source - www.freecodesource.com

This website is currently the first to come up at Google through Internet Explorer. They have backgrounds for MySpace, Friendster and Hi5, and seem to have quite a few in each category. When you visit there be aware that you need to enable your popup blocker. Otherwise you will have to wait a moment to view the page. This site is okay at finding backgrounds for MySpace, but you may not find exactly what you are looking for. If you don't then cruise on to some other sites.

Free MySpace Backgrounds is a really good place to start looking for a background for MySpace. They have several categories, and links on each category to view multiple looks for your background. Remember that all you have to do is click on the coding then right click and copy to take the code to your page. Paste in the code to the "About Me" section of your profile editor and save it. Then you can view how it looks on your MySpace page. This is a good site for beginners, and will be a great source of backgrounds for MySpace without popups.

Wonder Backgrounds - www.wonderbackgrounds.com

I was not real impressed with Wonder Backgrounds website. It seemed to be a copy of various backgrounds and other itmems from various websites. Wonder Backgrounds also has popups, and there is a slight delay in viewing the pages you click to view. The layout of backgrounds for MySpace is easy to find and well organized.

Pimp My Space - www.pimpmyspace.org

Pimp MySpace has been a popular place for many to go to in searching for backgrounds for MySpace. I have been there many times. You will find things from Barbie backgrounds to Techno stuff. There is even a section of popular anime. I would highly recommend this site for finding a good background for MySpace, and favorite it for future changes. If you know how to make backgrounds you can submit them to Pimp MySpace. I don't know if they pay you for that, but it would not hurt checking into this.

Google Images

Google Images is also a great place to find backgrounds for MySpace. Just type in "MySpace backgrounds" and a plethora of items come up. However, you will need to know how to code in CSS to link to the image for your MySpace profile. CSS is apparently not all that complicated, I just haven't taken the time to learn it. There is a section on MySpace that will teach you how, or you can search the web and learn CSS as well.

Custom Images

If you are computer savvy and somewhat of an artist, you can scan in pictures or photos of your own to create a background for MySpace. You are a step ahead of me if you know how to create digital images for backgrounds. That is one of the best ways to have original content as a background for your MySpace profile.

Whatever you choose for your MySpace background, choose something that reflects your image or interests. If you are trying to promote a business you may want to design your own backgrounds for MySpace.
