Using Dining Plan Snack Credits at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park

When snacking your way around Walt Disney World, you will eventually find yourself in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. Although on the surface, this park does not appear to have a large variety of items for your Disney Dining Plan snack credits, if you keep your eye out for that DDP logo on menus, you may be surprised and delighted with what you'll find! And don't overlook the nooks and crannies, where richly themed kiosks and carts are also offering up surprises at every turn.

Some excellent variety is found starting with the two main counter service restaurants. Follow your nose to Flame Tree Barbecue, where ribs, chicken and brisket sandwiches scent the air with their smoky flavor. Your counter service credit will serve up the barbecue, but for those just looking for a snack, you can order onion rings, a large and sweet corn muffin, pre-packaged chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, a Minute Maid frozen lemonade or a slice of tart key lime pie. If Asia is where you find yourself when hunger strikes, the counter service area of Yak and Yeti offers up fried rice, eggrolls, the same frozen lemonade and chocolate cake as Flame Tree and a different spin on the key lime pie: Mango. Either locale is a great place to stop for just a snack, or use those snack credits to stretch a counter service meal.

In Dinoland, Dino-Bite Snacks offers up sundaes, milkshakes, cookies, ice cream cookie sandwiches, yogurt, chips, churros and Coca Cola beverages. In Asia, the Royal Anandapur Tea Company serves up hot drinks for chilly mornings and an Asia Slush Cart offers icy slush drinks for hot afternoons.

Kiosks located throughout the park and named "Safari" carts also offer up drinks, popcorn and ice creams. These include frozen bananas, Mickey bars and ice cream sandwiches, frozen fruit bars, popsicles and more.

For those looking for a healthy snack, the Harambe Fruit Market in Africa, has selections of whole fresh fruits, bowls of cut fresh fruit and large dill pickles.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is a place where the real animals of today live side by side with the extinct dinosaurs of tomorrow and the mythical yeti of the mountain. With the exotically fascinating safari, the exhilarating thrill of Expedition Everest and the beauty of Finding Nemo: the Musical, Disney World guests can find hunger striking at any time. Check out the beautifully themed carts, restaurants and hidden gems to find delicious treats awaiting you at every turn.
