Window treatments: Custom made window treatments with specialty fabric are lovely, but exorbitant in price. Instead of having a full set of window treatments made, purchase less expensive store bought curtains, and add a band of custom fabric at the top and/or bottom of the panels for a one of a kind look. You can make matching tiebacks with leftover fabric.
Bedding: The quilted look is in. Instead of using yards and yards of designer fabric to make your bedding or duvet covers, just purchase a couple of yards, and pair it with a less expensive fabric to make a quilted duvet instead. Another option is to make your bed duvet in out of large panels. Use your expensive fabric in a large square for the center of the bed, and piece together the side, top and bottom panels from less expensive fabric, like an extra flat sheet that matches the sheets on your bed. No one will know you were being cheap!
Wall Upholstery: Wall upholstery is the ultimate of luxury, but it takes a lot of fabric to upholster a wall. To get a similar look, you can give the wall a paneled look with wood trim and small inserts of your designer fabric. Another option is to cover canvas panels with your designer fabric, or insert the fabric into ornate picture frames and hang them on the wall.
Pillows: Creating pillows with designer fabric seem like a good way to make your designer fabric go further. But even less expensive than that is using scraps of your designer fabric to accent your pillows. You can take any leftover strip of fabric, fold over and iron the edges down, and then hand sew it onto the front of your pillow. Add a little leftover trim, and people will think you paid a fortune for it.
You may have noticed a trend here. Basically, to get the most of your high-end fabric, you can purchase ready-made pieces and update them with panels of your lovely fabric. When you are done, you can utilize every last scrap with accessory projects.
