Why use facial masks?
Face masks are a great way to pamper yourself, whilst also treating your skin. Facial masks can tighten the pores on your face. They can also remove that horrible extra oil in your skin, or if your skin is dry they can provide moisture and make your dry skin look bright and healthy. But also remember that it is not just face masks that can make your skin look beautiful, the is one simple thing you can do everyday that will help make your skin glow...drink between 6 and 8 glasses of water a day! Sound like a lot? It may but remember this is probably one of the most natural ways to treat your body water is not only great for you skin but it can also provide good-ness for the rest of your body too.
What can you use in a face mask?
There are many things you can use in a face mask, but if you are unsure there are many sources you can check out for help, for example the Internet is a great source. Many web-sites have recipes for home made face masks. Many homemade face masks contain honey or yogurt in them. Many fruits and vegetables can be used in face masks too, as they are a natural source of good-ness. Different fruits and vegetables will have different vitamins and mineral to treat different types of skin. A good way to find out what works best for you is to try a number of different masks till you find the one that makes you feel like number one!
TIP: IF YOU HAVE NATURALLY SENSITIVE SKIN DO A SPOT TEST FIRST BEFORE YOU LAYER YOUR FACE WITH YOUR MASK IN-CASE YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO ANY OF THE INGREDIENTS OR THEY IRRITATE YOUR SKIN!
What is a spot test?
A spot test is a test you do yourself to test and see if you are allergic to a product or if the product will cause any irritation. To do this test put a small amount of the mask on a small part of you skin, let it sit for 10-15 mins or less if you begin to have a reaction. If you show no signs of a reaction go ahead and use a your face masks. But if you do feel some irritation wash it off your skin immediately and DO NOT use your face mask.
How long should you leave a face mask on for?
A homemade face mask should be left on the face for about 10-15 mins. However if you get a recipe from a source that says differently always follow the directions as given.
Well ladies have fun!
