Using an International Trademark

What will you have to do to get your international trademark?

You must send a form with your written application to the P.T.O. That's a start on the process. Make sure that the application is properly written and that all copies are attached. It might be a good idea to get help by a lawyer to make the process a bit quicker. If something has to be changed in your application during the process they can assist you doing that as well. You will have a better chance to get the trademark that you would like to get if you take help from a lawyer.

Together with your application you have to send your payment for registering the trademark. Ask the P.T.O about the price for registration. You also have to attach a drawing of what your mark look like and how and where you are going to use it. When you have sent the application you will need to have some patience since it usually takes a few weeks or maybe a month before you receive a receipt. When you have received that, you are able to file for an international trademark if you want to.

When you want to get an international trademark you need to write a new application and post it. After that you will need to have some patience once again since the waiting times are pretty similar to the national ones. After you have received your international trademark you can start using your mark around the world. Put it on all your products and in all your adverts. Now you can make your business expand all over the world and make your trademark a famous one everywhere without having to worry about others using it without your allowance.
