Using the Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset

This Headset is Small, Slim and Comfortable

The first few times I saw someone using a Bluetooth headset, I have to admit, I thought they were nuts. When you see someone carry on an animated conversation, seemingly with themselves, what else would you think.

Eventually I realized they were using some kind of a cell phone receiver, and they really were not crazy. That was when I thought about looking into getting one for myself.

My research took me to Jabra. Specifically, the Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset. I found this at Best Buy for $30.00.

The Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset fit nicely on my ear, and the earpiece was very comfortable. It is lightweight, weighing only 16 grams. At 9 mm thick, it is thin enough to wear for hours without noticing that it is there.

One thing that I found a bit disconcerting with the Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset was the first time I got a call with the vibrate mode set. IT made me think back to the first time I had a pager on vibrate years ago. It scared me out of about ten years growth. However, once I got used to it I was glad to have this feature. I noticed that even in a crowded room, I knew Ihad a call coming in.

The sound quality on calls with the Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset is spectacular. I have periodically asked folks on the other end if they could tell I was on a headset. They told me they couldn't.

The controls for the Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset are on the side of the earpiece, and are quote easy to use. Charging the unit is easy. You have an option of using the wall jack, or using a USB charging adapter. I like using the USB because I am working at my computer frequently, so it makes more sense.

The earpiece of the Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset rotates, so you are not limited to wearing it on one ear or the other. That is something other people have mentioned to me about their headsets. Of course I was not aware that people can be right or left eared, but I guess you learn something every day.

The Jabra BT5020 Bluetooth Headset is as big on performance as it is small in size. Never having used a Bluetooth headset before, I did not have a clue what to expect. I am sold on Jabra and would recommend this to anyone in the market.
