Using Juvederm For Lip Augmentation

Juvederm Is a Great Choice for Lip Enhancement

Colleen Starr
If you are looking for fuller, sexy looking lips you may consider using Juvéderm for lip augmentation also known as lip enhancement. In the past collagen was routinely used to achieve bigger lips. Juvéderm offers many advantages over collagen. Juvéderm will give you fuller lips for about 4 and they are natural feeling. Collagen does not last as long or feel as natural. Juvéderm can last up to a year in your face but not in your lips.

Once you determine you do want fuller lips with a lip augmentation, talk to your plastic surgeon about your desired results. Some women just want their lips a little fuller and some woman are hoping for lips like Angelina Jolie. With Juvéderm, you and your doctor determine the overall size by choosing how want. The cost varies depending on how many Juvéderm filler is actually used in your lips. For most women 1 syringe will give desired, noticeable fuller lips with a cost of $550. The price depends on your area and the plastic surgeon that you use.

The lip augmentation procedure
The actual lip augmentation procedure is not very painful. The plastic surgeon will start by using Novocaine for a full nerve block around your mouth. This involves 4 injections of Novocaine inside your mouth around your lip area. The worst part in when the needle goes inside the nerve in the middle of your top lip. After a few minutes of being numb, your plastic surgeon will inject Juvéderm into the the top and bottom of your lips. The plastic surgeon may roll the Juvéderm around with his fingers so it sits properly. After the injections are done, you will immediately be given a ice pack for your lips. Keeping the ice pack on will reduce the amount of swelling.

What happens after your Juvédermprocedure
Your lips will start to swell up almost immediately from the trauma of the injections. The swelling will get worse over the next few days. After the third day, the swelling will start to decrease and in a few days you will be left with your new fuller lips. Bruising is quite common after the procedure. It is possible to get bad bruising all around your mouth but most woman only notice minor bruising.

Before you scheduling your Juvéderm procedure
Make sure you do not have any important events to attend for the week following your procedure, in case of bruising and swelling. Also, make sure your doctor is clear on the look you hope to achieve.

I have used Juvéderm for my lip enhancement procedure and have been very happy with the results. My bruising was minimal and the swelling started to go down after 3 days. Using Juvéderm is a good way to determine how you like having fuller lips before choosing silicone injections.

Sounds like a winner, thankfully I have nice lips, but this is very handy for those who have thin lips, awesome job!
