Using LYRICA A.K.A. Pregabalin to Treat FIBROMYALGIA

The Effectiveness of Lyrica to Treat Fibromyalgia

LDP
About two years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I prescribed several medications to treat the widespread chronic pain, fibro fog, and other symptoms from Fibromyalgia. I was hesitant to start taking any of these medications because I feared the side effects of them would outweight the benefits.

In the last several months I have began taking Lyric, a.k.a. Pregabalin to treat the symptoms of Fibromyalgia. So far, Lyrica has proven to be a great treatment option for the chronic widespread pain, lack of sleep, and fibro fog I would get with Fibromyalgia.

Lyrica did not completely take away all of my symptoms, in fact, it didn't 'take away' any of my symptoms. What it DID do was to decrease the intensity of the pain and gave me a few more hours of actual restful sleep. My fibro fog has improved as well.

You take the medication at night time and in most cases it will improve your quality of sleep. Most people, such as myself, suffer from insomnia and fatigue because of our Fibromyalgia. Lyrica or Pregabalin can help you have a more restful nights sleep and wake up refreshed. If you have been a long time sufferer of Fibromyalgia, or as it is also know Chronic Fatigue syndrome, then you will understand how important that is.

In 2007 the ADA approved Lyrica, or Pregabalin, as a treatment for Fibromyalgia. Only take this medication under the supervision of your doctor. Some side effects include dizziness and drowsiness and the potential for weight gain. I have yet to notice any weight gain, but, I did have episodes of the dizziness. But, those subsided for the most part. I generally take this medication about an hour or two before I intend to go to bed.
