MySpace can be a site to promote your business for free. MySpace, generally, is merely a social networking site. However, over the years MySpace has grown and millions of people use it daily.

MySpace is one of the most visited pages on the internet. Placing your business on MySpace as a supplemental promotion can greatly boost your sales. Blatantly using MySpace for commercial use may be a bad thing. But, if you can utilize the social networking site to promote your business tactfully, you can increase your profits.

You must research the terms of service for MySpace carefully before adding your business's profile. Some activities, such as business related, are allowed. You just have to read the terms of service agreement carefully to make sure your business profile will be accepted. You don't want to invest a lot of time building a business profile on MySpace only to have it deleted by the moderators later.

You cannot use MySpace to gather email addresses or as a form of link building. You can, however, use MySpace as a supplement to your advertising campaign.

Using MySpace to promote your business is not only a great way to boost sales, but, also a great way for you to socialize with your customers. You can run specials on your MySpace profile to attract new and existing customers.

An example of a special is to offer a discount if a MySpace user places your business in their top friends list. You can also place bulletins that state "Come in today and mention you read this bulletin and get a free X." Many businesses have prospered this way.

Having a MySpace profile for your business is another great way to have your business show up in search engine results. You will also attract a younger crowd to you business by having a MySpace business profile as well.

You will first want to design a nice MySpace profile to show case your business. In the field, 'what are you looking for' click on the boxes for 'friends' and 'networking'. Once you have made your MySpace business page you can then start searching for friends on MySpace. To get the most friends on MySpace you can browse certain age groups.

Once you have found some users in a certain mile radius of your business, you can then invite them to be your 'friend' on MySpace. Try not to spam these users. They will not add you if they believe you are only going to spam them.

In your invitation message state that you are a business promoting such-and-such and that you are offering specials and discounts to your MySpace friends. Once you get some MySpace friends to your business profile you will then be able to obtain more users to your list just from word-of-mouth.

When you first begin using MySpace as a supplement to your advertising campaign, you will want to do as many specials and promotions as possible. The more you do, the faster the word of mouth will spread about your MySpace site. After the initial surge, you can tone down the amount of discounts and freebies you give. You will, however, want to continue providing specials, promotions, and free items to maintain your friend base.

Before too long you will have hundreds, if not thousands, of MySpace friends on your MySpace business profile and you will notice the jump in sales.

Just remember, try not to come off too commercial and do not spam your MySpace friends. If you come off as a bot or as spam, you will not get a lot of users to join and you will not see an increase in sales. It is also good to remember that MySpace should not be your only means of advertising or promoting your business. Use MySpace only to supplement your existing ad campaign and to increase your relationship with future and present customers.
