Using Natural Ingredients to Enhance the Health of Your Hair

Olive Oil
Olive oil is the most popular remedy for hair health enhancement. Its primary feature is its wonderful ability to provide the hair with immense shine and luster. Olive oil is also very accessible, and can be purchased at grocery stores and mass merchandise stores. To use olive oil as a deep conditioner or hair treatment, prior to hair wash, cover your entire hair with the oil and massage in so your hair is covered completely. If you have longer hair, use hair claws or pins to keep hair up and out of your face and off of your ears and neck areas. Leave in the oil for at least an hour to ensure complete saturation into each hair strand. Afterwards, rinse your hair out thoroughly. Make sure to wash your face, ears, neck, and back areas again afterwards to prevent an extra moisturizing in those areas. Baby oil can also be used as a substitute to olive oil, although the results are not as significant and tends to be more likely to clog pores if not properly applied. It also can cause an color-treated hair to fade faster.

Argan Oil

Argan oil, also known as Morrocan oil, is harvested from the nuts of the argan tree, which grows primarily exclusively in Morocco. Argan oil noted to have restorative and age-defying effects on hair and skin because it is rich in Vitamin E and several essential fatty acids. Argan oil is not easily accessible for purchase and is usually found in beauty supply stores such as ULTA, Sephora, or Sally Beauty Supply at a much higher cost than what olive oil runs for. However, argan oil can be much more effective, especially for much coarser, drier, and more heavily damaged hair types.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil is primarily used as a dandruff remover, and scalp and hair cleanser. It also has been noted for its role in stopping hair loss, lice removal, and for hair growth. Lavender is well known for its aromatherapy, which makes it have an additional plus when applying it on hair giving it an extra pleasant scent. Lavender oil is also not as easily accessible for purchase like argon oil, however, its price range is a bit more reasonable. It can be found primarily at health food stores such as GNC, or with online retailers such as Amazon.com.
