Let's look at a company that relies on networking. Amway Corporation sells a variety of items ranging from household cleaners to food. These products are not sold in stores. Rather, individuals join up-just as we joined up at Associated Content-and sell the products door-to-door. The Amway Representatives make money two different ways. The first way is through personal sales. They get a certain percentage from selling products directly to their customers. The second way is they make money for having people join under them. They make money on what sales the down line makes.
Associated Content producers make money two different ways also. They make money from the upfront payments. They also make money on page views. Since we only make $1.50 per 1,000 page views, it may seem impossible to make a good income this way. However, by using effective networking techniques, your page views will quickly build up in no time at all.
Amway follows a marketing plan. When you join, and pay the membership fee-and now remember you do not have to pay a membership fee to join Associated Content-you are encouraged to get nine people to join and to have each member to purchase $250 a month in products. These nine people, in turn, are encouraged to do the same. By following this marketing plan, within the year, you will be making $5,000 a month. Yeah, right!
Let's try this marketing plan for Associated Content. Talk to ten people you know. Tell them about the website and the types of articles you have written. Let them know the website is free to join, Who knows, somebody may be interested in becoming a content producer. Ask each of these ten to pass the word along to ten people they know. Soon, these simple networking skills will bring you more page views than you can count.
Usually, when an Amway Representative shows the marketing plan, it can take two to three hours to go through it. Many times, the prospect ends up not being interested. Spreading the word about Associated Content is not as time consuming. It can take a few minutes, such as sending an email to people you know.
I happened to be an Amway Representative in 1998. In the couple of weeks that I have been a Content Producer, I already made more money than I did the entire year selling Amway. I did not have to buy a kit, products or motivational tapes and books to do this. All that is required is a little investment in time.
