Using Pets to Make Money
Have You Discovered This Way to Make a Little Cash While Having Company from Animals?
The first thing that you should check into is what type of dog you want to breed. Whether you want to breed Yorkshire Terriers, Silky Terriers, or Shih Tzus, there is plenty of information out there on the internet to divulge yourself with. Maybe you already have a full-blooded dog that you already have as a pet that you'll just have to find a mate for. Keep in mind that some breeds of dogs sell for higher amounts of money than others. However, your living situation will probably dictate which dogs you'll be able to breed and which ones you won't. For example, someone with a small house won't want to breed Siberian Huskies simply because there is definitely not enough room. On the other hand, a small dog might be best for someone who has limited space.
Now that you've figured out which dog you'll be breeding, you'll just have to sit back and wait until they have their puppies. As soon as they do, however, it would be best to have them advertised somewhere that you'll be able to garnish a lot of responses. You could even advertise them before they're born so they are already spoken for; advertising right afterward, though, will enable you to know how many puppies there are for sure and to have pictures to show people.
If you want to get the most out of your puppies and you are planning to register them with AKC or ACA, be sure you know both of the organization's standards and how puppies are properly brought up. With some puppies their tails are docked; with all puppies you definitely should get them up to date on their shots. Once you have done your homework and filed them with the AKC or ACA you will be ready to have them out of the house once they reach 7-8 weeks. If you have no individual buyers to purchase your puppies, be prepared to sell them at a local pet store. Most pet stores will pay top dollar for puppies that have been up to date on all their shots and ones that are 8 weeks old. If you let time get away from you and you wait an extra week or so, the price that you receive for them will more than likely go down.
Breeding puppies is an excellent way for one to make a little bit of money on the side. If you get skilled enough, you may just be able to even have more than one set of litters. Doing your research, though, will help you to learn the proper way to breeding stardom and may even prove to be a successful and lucrative business.
