Pewter charms are certainly popular in jewelry making for items like necklaces and bracelets, but there is so much more that you can do with these pretty little pieces. Here are some creative ideas for using pewter charms to add a special touch to craft projects besides jewelry.

When you think of pewter charms chances are you think of jewelry. The most common uses for these unique metal charms is are as pendants on a necklace or in charm bracelets. However, pewter charms are actually quite versatile and can be used in so many other ways besides just for jewelry.

One thing that makes these charms so versatile is that they can be found in just about any shape you can think of including animals, zodiac symbols, shapes, hearts, angels, crosses and just about any other object you can think of. This makes them ideal for personalizing or customizing crafts to match an occasion or to fit with someone's personality.

Here are some creative ideas for using pewter charms in other craft projects besides jewelry.

Scrapbooking

Add some life and dimension to your scrapbook pages with a cute little pewter charm or two. Because there are so many different styles and shapes available you can find one to match just about anything you are scrapbooking about. Put a graduation cap charm on a page for your child's graduation. Or what about a dog bone on a page featuring your favorite pup? Use your imagination and creativity and you can come up with some other great ideas on your own.

Greeting Cards

If you make your own greeting cards a charm can be the perfect addition to help it stand out and seem more special. Frame the charm on the front of the card or tuck it away inside for a special surprise.

Wine Glass Charms

Make your own wine glass charms for a party, wedding or special event. Simply string the charm onto a short piece of wire with a few other pretty beads and wrap it around the base of the stem of a wine glass for a quick custom charm.
