Ask About the Most Likely Scenario
If we ask about definite outcomes, the tarot cards might not be able to give us a clear answer because so many factors can interfere and change the outcome. By asking about the "most likely" outcome, the tarot cards can reveal the strongest possibilities. Phrase your questions carefully, taking care to be very specific. "Are my chances good for getting a job with (such and such company)?" or, "How likely am I to get this promotion at work?" are good questions. Shuffle the cards while asking the question, and then draw one card as your answer. If it's a "negative" card, take it as a no, and if it's a "positive" card, take it as a yes. You can also pay attention to the actual card meaning because it may provide a more in-depth answer.
Ask About Your Own Actions
Sometimes you might be able to influence a particular outcome yourself, simply by taking action. Tarot cards can help you decide which actions might be most beneficial. "If I take this new job, will the potential for long-term advancement be good?" or, "If I go back to school to get a degree in (field), will my potential for employment be better?" or, "If I share my feelings with (person), is he/she likely to be receptive to what I have to say?" are good questions because they clarify which actions will bring about the result you want. Again, follow the same procedure as above, shuffling the tarot cards while asking your question, and drawing one card as your answer.
However, understand that sometimes it's just impossible to know what will happen in the future, regardless of what the tarot cards tell you. The future is always shifting and changing based on what we do, what others do, and plenty of influences that we have no control over. Still, it is usually possible to get a general idea of future events and possibilities, which can be incredibly helpful.
If you find that you're just not getting clear answers no matter how you phrase the questions, accept that the outcome may still be undecided, or you might not be meant to know at this time. It can be frustrating, but if this happens, simply put the cards aside and ask again later. Most often you'll get stronger answers if you just wait a little while.
Finally, remember that tarot cards do not hold any power over your life. They may indeed predict events that you have no control over, but more often you can take action to prevent or change the outcome altogether.
