Using Tea to Refresh and Heal Your Skin
How to Use Ordinary Tea and Tea Bags to Perk Up and Renew Your Skin!
Many varieties of tea also surpass others in their antibacterial properties, cleaning your body when you drink it and cleaning your skin when you use it as a beauty aid or in bath products. Tea is also a great way to prevent dehydration, both in your body and on your skin as well. Using tea and products made with tea on your skin, you can keep it moisturized and keep it's natural healthy glow. There are a few ways you can give your skin that youthful, refreshed look using tea right in your own home, right now!
Tea bags to reduce puffiness:
Almost every woman knows this one! Using tea bags to relieve and reduce puffiness under your eyes has been a beauty trick since tea bags were even invented. The reason is simple, everyone already knew the benefits of tea on your skin, so putting it in a tiny convenient bag that lets the tea effortlessly seep through was a great benefit for tea drinkers and beauty enthusiasts.
After you make yourself a cup of tea in the morning, squeeze your teabag gently into your cup with clean hands, and put the teabag on a folded paper towel. Put two of these in the refrigerator, and leave them in there overnight. The next morning before you start your routine, try leaning back for about 10 to 15 minutes with the cold tea bags over your eyes, pressed gently against the circles beneath them. Rinse your face with some cool water, and that pesky dark puffy skin beneath your eyes will look much better! Now you can go on with your makeup routine without having to stress over how well you've covered up those dark circles.
Using tea in your bath:
Taking a relaxing bath is soothing enough, but adding the refreshing essence of tea to your bath water is sure to leave you feeling renewed and leave your skin feeling baby soft. There are a couple of easy ways to use tea in your bath at home without having much else but the tea and water itself.
You can simply add a tea bag or tea satchel to your bath, using simple every day earl grey, English, green, or jasmine tea. Basically, your entire bath will be one giant cup of tea! To even further boost the tea's therapeutic properties for your skin, you could also use powdered tea in your bath. You could add the powdered tea to some sea salts, or even add a couple drops of tea leaf oil, if you can find it!
Tea in your bath is especially useful if you are having trouble sleeping. (Just make sure you don't fall asleep in the tub!) Most varieties of tea, even some of the caffeinated ones, have been known to have such soothing properties that they make effective sleep aids. Using chamomile or jasmine tea in your bath will let you sleep soundly that night.
Using tea to brighten your complexion:
Teas, especially green tea, have been known to be exceptionally good at evening out and smoothing the skin tone on your face. Now more then ever, it's very trendy to have your skin looking as absolutely natural as it can, which is why many beauty product companies are making more and more products that focus on enhancing your skin's natural tone rather than covering it up. Whether you plan on wearing makeup or not, using tea to brighten and even out your complexion is a good way to keep your skin naturally radiant and healthy.
If you have sensitive skin and need some deep cleansing without irritating your face, you can make a paste that works as a sort of face scrub using tea powder, oil, and a tiny bit of water. There are also many products for your face and skin that have different kinds of tea as their main ingredient. Some are a bit pricey, but if you can find a moderately priced organic tea face mask or face wash, I encourage you to take that leap for your skin, and our economy.
There's nothing better for your skin than natural ingredients. Whether your using a used tea bag or a satchel of the finest loose leaf tea, you're still getting something really great with the tea that's inside!
