But in some quiet time, I casually mentioned to God in prayer for lower gas prices, and it seemed through meditation that He was trying to reach in and encourage nationwide or even worldwide prayer for this. Our energy here on earth is expensive, and when it is hard to obtain that energy, we do panic in a sense, but folks, we need to realize we do have one form of "Energy" that has been free, still is free, and forever will be free, and that is prayer and ultimately it is Him. And what is gasoline to Him? He made it. Some of us might be angry that He is allowing this price hike to happen, but as a whole, our society has been distancing ourselves from Him. I saw a church sign the other day which read, "If God seems more distant, guess who moved." We do want him there when the lean times hit, yet we do easily forget in the good times.
Maybe is we can let our anger subside a bit (I'm sure I will have more surges of it before it is over), and figuratively join hands as a nation and pray for the prices of fuel to be lowered. We can set amounts that we feel more comfortable paying ($1 to $2 dollar range may be a good start). Then we pray hard for it. People have talked about the power of the praying person before, and things have happened as a result of prayer. If the United States can unite for this cause, what can truly work against us. Big Oil and big, unresponsive government just might get knocked on their knees.
And hopefully this prayer effort will lead to a nationwide revival, in which we can better pray for this upcoming election and for these wars to quickly end. If we are more in tune with God, folks, better things can happen as a result of our prayers. We must tap into this true "Energy-source" and rely on it more than gasoline or even arms. Lets join hands in prayer, America. Lower these prices. If you are not yet motivated, look into the eyes of your kids and try it for them. Pray hard! God is not as boring as some of you think He is and as some Christians have tried to make Him look. Try Him! Steven Curtis Chapman wrote in one song how a relationship with God can be a "great adventure!" So again, folks, let us try to rock these hard times and get the world back in some order through this unified prayer. God is yearning a relationship with you and this can be a great start! Again, pray hard!
