The Park City Mountain Resort is one of the most accessible winter destinations in the world. It is located just 37 miles from Salt Lake International Airport. Park City resort is where the men and women's winter Olympic games was hosted in 2002. This past winter they added three new and improved terrain parks and pipes that have proved to be a definite hit with people of all ages. Park City Mountain Resort offers light, dry powder spread over 3,300 acres of land with 100 trails and eight amazing bowls of snow. It has 14 chairlifts that include four six-passenger high-speed lifts, perfect for both the beginner and advanced skier. Salt Lake City Ski Resorts
Solitude Mountain Resort is 14 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon from Salt Lake City. The winter in Solitude usually brings about 500 inches of snow fall over 1200 acres of terrain including Honeycomb Canyon which is known for its beauty and back country thrills. The village, a retreat at the Solitude resort, brings the intimate ambiance and setting of the European Alps to life in this small less crowded resort. Solitude is known for its great variety of terrain, exquisite lodging, fine dining and friendly service. Snowbird-Alta Resort is known for it's deep powder and steep terrain. Located in the rugged mountains south of Salt Lake City this ski resort is a snowboarder's dream. Snowbird's recent lift served connection to Alta offers the world's second largest ski able area that sees approximately 500 inches of snowfall. A combined Snowbird-Alta lift ticket is offered as a single or multi-day pass. When an adult buys an all-day pass as Snowbird 2 kids ages 12 and under can ski free all day.
Brighten Ski Resort is one of the oldest ski resorts in Utah, but it is definitely not outdated. It is located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, about 35 miles southeast of downtown Salt Lake City. It has been voted the most "family friendly" resort in Utah and the "best value." Skiers and boarder have unlimited access to the back country and they have mountains for skiers of all skill levels.
Ogden/Weber County
Powder Mountain hosts their ski season from mid-November to mid-April. They have 7 lifts and 5500 acres of ski able terrain. Their average annual snowfall is about 500 inches. There are several lodging options if you choose to vacation and ski Powder Mountain. The Columbine Inn, Pow Mow Ski Inn Condos, Sundown Condos and Power Ridge Condo all offer slope side lodging at competitive prices.
