Are you considering attending Utah State University? Before you move to Logan, you should consider the advantages of attending one of USU's branch campuses. Utah State has branch campuses stretched all over Utah, making it much easier for students in rural communities to get an education while also allowing them to stay with their familiar small town environment. The Uintah Basin Branch Campus is one of these facilities. Nearly all students enrolled in this collage campus have lived in the area before attending collage. However, the benefits of attending a branch campus are so significant that more people should be drawn to the Uintah Basin rather than moving on campus. If you are looking for a traditional collage experience than you should by all means live on main campus. Otherwise, here are some reasons for you to consider moving to the Uintah Basin.

1. Personal Attention This is collage right, no ones going to be there to hold your hand. Still though, if your professor were willing to help you in anyway that he or she can, why wouldn't you allow them to? The Uintah Basin is a friendly environment were people general care for their neighbors. The collage here operates under the same rules. Your teacher is always going to be just a few doors away and will give you all the one-on-one time that you need. Then again, you might not need the extra help out of class; the small class sizes make the experience practically one-on-one anyway. My Calculus I class was made up of four students. I never would have learned calculus so well in a class of thirty.

2. More Affordable If you don't have either a scholarship or rich parents, you should consider moving to the Uintah Basin. Tuition costs are the same in branch campuses as in Logan. But there are nowhere near the amounts of student fees. The absence of such things as parking fees and library fees will save you hundreds of dollars each semester. These costs are rarely covered under scholarships. Speaking of scholarships, the Uintah Basin wants students in the area so badly that they will hand you a scholarship without asking questions.

3. Job Opportunities Try finding a job in Logan that doesn't pay minimum wage and still allows you the time to finish your schooling. Wages are low in a collage town because there are thousands of students looking for a little extra cash. The opposite is true in most branch communities, especially in the Uintah Basin. The Basin area is in an oil boom. Most young men here will opt out of collage life and move directly into the oilfield. They will make 20-30 dollars an hour without even a high school diploma. This is great news for the rest of us because every business in the Basin is hiring in order to fill positions that are now working on a rig. Good employees are hard to come by and owners are willing to pay well if it means staying in business.

4. Great Environment I don't mean to offend big city life, but I hate big city life. Roosevelt and Vernal are the two small sister cities that make up the Uintah Basin Branch Campus. Both of these cities are beautiful communities surrounded by mountains and lakes. Yes, just like Logan, except there is no freeway running through the scene. You can't live in the Basin and avoid the outdoors. Mountain biking, fishing, boating, these are all ways of life out here.

5. Equality Many people are turned off to branch campuses because there is a stigma that these degrees are for some reason inferior to the degree attained from the main campus. The truth is, there is no gap in education quality between a small campus and the main campus. Also, your transcripts are kept in the exact same way that they would be in Logan. No one will ever be able to look at your transcript and tell that you did not spend your collage life in a dorm.
