Utensil Love: A Love Poem

National Poetry Month Daily Challenge: Kitchen Rhyming Poem

Khara E. House
Even if you were a knife
I'd still want you in my life
I think I'd still have to swoon
If you should become a spoon
I'll still love you if you'll a-
-ppear to be a spatula
Maybe you'll think I'm a dork
But I'd still love you as a spork
All I really mean to say,
Don't mean this any other way
There would be no need for food
If I had to live without you

I think I am in Kristen's camp on the spork, while it is dorky, it is a hypbrid utensil which could obsolete the need for having a fork and a spoon, thus reducing the amount of space taken up in your silverware drawer as well as reducing the amount of utensils used at the table, making for less washing and consumption of water. lol The spork is the green way to go.

This poem is also for my dear friend Kristen, and dedicated in part to our raging debate about (or, on my part, against) the necessity and/or logic behind sporks.
