This product definitely grab your attention when perusing the snack aisle. The front of the bag advertises that this pretzel is all natural and contains seven grains. It further states that this snack food is made from cracked wheat, barley, corn, rye, oats, millet and rice. It also contains soy, flax seeds, and sesame seeds. For those of us looking to still enjoy our crunchy snacks but also cut down on the calories and Fat, this pretzel seems like a great choice.
Each one ounce serving of Utz Sourdough Multigrain Pretzels contains only one hundred and ten calories. There is one gram of Total Fat, with no Saturated or Trans Fat. This snack has no cholesterol in it either. Each serving has three hundred and eighty milligrams of Sodium and twenty two grams of Total Carbohydrate. There is also two grams of Fiber, one gram of Sugar and three grams of Protein. Additionally, each one ounce serving offers a small amount of Iron, Magnesium, Niacin, Phosphorous and Riboflavin. The percent daily values of these nutrients are based on a two thousand calorie diet.
When I first tasted these pretzels, I absolutely loved them. The rich flavor of the snack made it very tasty and very filling. These pretzels are heavy and very dense, so just a few goes a long way. There is a nice amount of salt sprinkled on each one which adds to the great flavor. These snacks are very hard, which is to be expected with sourdough pretzels, so care should be taken by those with sensitive teeth or dental work that does not get along with very hard foods.
I paid only $2.79 for a fourteen ounce bag of this snack food. Considering how much my husband and I enjoyed them and the fact that this pretzel was a far better nutritional choice than chips that are full of fat, I consider this price to be a real bargain.
Overall, I would give these pretzels four and a half out of five stars. The availability of this product is great as I purchased it in my local grocery store and the price was certainly affordable. The taste was fantastic and definitely very satisfying. I would certainly purchase this item again and would be inclined to encourage my children to munch on this snack food over a higher fat chip that offers no nutritional value.
