V Series Season 2 Spoilers

V Spoiler Alert - Will Season 2 of V Be a Big Hit?

The Portland Journal
The returning V television series has been a smash hit for TV moguls at ABC, but even so has still had its critics. The new series which is basically the 1980's storyline all shaken up, blended and thrown back onto TV screens in a totally revamped format.

We have seen some fantastic new characters brought to life in the form of the so called peaceful visitors, or better known as the V's... everybody who saw the 80's series knew already what new fans have since found out - the visitors are not so friendly!

Anna the Alien Queen as she is known (played by actress Morena Baccarin) has become quite a formidable bad girl, while her on-screen daughter the absolutely stunning Lisa (Laura Vandervoort) has been now seen to be flirting an alliance with the Alien rebels 'The 5th Column'.

As we know the V's are hell bent on serving humanity on their dinner tables, and the 5th Column are trying to save humanity after succumbing to human emotions - or there and there about. And as the series has progressed its already 12 parts, fans have seen some quite interesting and intricate plot lines developing among the characters.

Admittedly the series has taken the full 12 parts to get into gear, but now having seen the 12 parts the other 11 seem to glue quite nicely together.

Speaking from the heart now as I was one of the original 80's V series fans, I find it a little disappointing that a lot of the plot lines and props have not been used in the new version. Gone are the red alien uniforms, black or gold helmets and fantastic laser weapons. So to gone are the white shuttle craft, Willie the not so clever Visitor (Robert Englund from 80's) and up to now the mousey eating moments.

Although we have seen an alien soldier eating a deer whilst looking like a Buffy the Vampire Slayer throw back - nevertheless a quite gory moment to be savored - bring on some more, and give us fans some unedited shots of the 'human slicing and skewering machine'.

Diana Rumors

Rumors are already circulating as to some of the story lines and characters (actors) set to appear in the second season of V. Fans of the 80's episodes of the show will remember the very much loved to be hated Diana, played by Jane Balder.

She is apparently set to appear as Anna's mother also named Diana in season two. Word has it that Diana has been held captive for conditioning onboard Anna's ship in a room designed to look like the home planet of the V's - did someone shout holodeck?

Red Sky Rumors

The end of season one saw Anna casting red clouds over the planet with a tap on her magic Dell Laptop, oops sorry onboard computer (must be Alienware), in revenge for her eggs being destroyed by The 5th Column. It was actually FBI Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) who deals the fatal blow with a Blue Energy Grenade.

But what is the 'Red Sky'?

The rumor mill tells us that the red stuff that is being seen all around the planet is part of a plot by Anna to deceptively gain the trust of humanity.

Red rain will be seen to fall causing panic throughout the planet. This will quickly be seen to develop life enhancing properties which include making humans develop a more fertile nature, thus being able to have more babies, and also the deserts turn green with plant life.

Lisa - Alien Queen in Waiting?

Laura Vandervoort's character Lisa has already grown within the sci-fi show, already dating human Tyler Evan (Erica's son) and having been graced with the words "My Queen" by the alien ship's chief doctor and 5th Column member Joshua (Mark Hildreth).

It seems it will become apparent that Lisa either finds a taste of becoming the 'Queen Alien' or has already been adopted by the 5th Column as the Queen in waiting.

More from around the world

Fans are going to be treated to more of The 5th Column embroiled in battles around the world. This will also be lead on from more aliens and their ships around the world.

It has now become apparent that there are more than the ships that the visitors seemingly arrived with, as Anna has now de-cloaked them all with her vengeful act of retribution for her now destroyed eggs.

Apparently this enables the series to move forward with the storyline for 5th Column members onboard other alien ships, and human rebels globally.

The Press Guy Turns Coat

TV News Anchor and Alien Informant Chad Decker (Scott Wolf) could become a major player in the Alien versus Human conflict. Already he has been seen to be an informant to Anna, but in episode 12 saw firsthand what the V's have been up to having witnessed the slicing and dicing of a human onboard the alien ship.

Two possible plots are emerging in which one see's Decker turn his focus to helping the 5th Column while cleverly disguising his intentions as Anna's cohort and human envoy.

The other is a more sinister role of luring and ratting out 5th column members, only to see him betrayed by Anna and served up as dinner later in season two.

Alien Planet Scenes

These may come in two versions, one I touched upon with Anna's mother Diana in a holodeck type environment. The other may allow fans to see alien characters on their home world as part of a flashback type plot.

The home world was never seen in the 1980's episodes of V, so will probably be one storyline that fans are chomping on the bit to see - bring on alien worlds ABC!

Alien Human Hybrid Babies

As in the original V series, the new adaption has an alien/human hybrid baby, whose father is 5th Column member Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut). We will see the baby quickly grow, and be used as a weapon by Anna. Ryan is also being condition by Anna to become the soldier he once was for the visitors, his baby will be used against him in some interesting story telling.

Will Lisa and Tyler also have an alien baby or is the relationship due for an epic heartbreak?

It would be nice to see the characters of Lisa and Tyler have a happy ending, but it does seem from sources that they are to have quite a bit of heartbreak when Tyler discovers Lisa's true identity.

Hopefully the story can emerge as a inter-racial peace pact, showing what can happen on Earth in real life when two races meet and fall in love - quite a coup if you ask me!

Anna's Human Emotions

During the season one finale we saw Anna get in touch with her human emotions, screaming as she finds out all her eggs had been destroyed.

These emotions that Anna is experiencing are set to increase during season two, seeing Anna develop a more sinister and empathic nature with emotions of anger and love.

Conclusion

The first episode of V season two will be an extended episode, and has been highlighted to allow new viewers of the show to more or less catch up on past episodes easily.

Season Two trailers are due for release soon so keep an eye out in late 2010.
