Summersville West Virginia is a great relaxing spot to visit and have a vacation there. There are many things that you can do as a family there and have a great time. Here are some things that you will definitely want to do when visiting Summersville West Virginia.

The New River Gorge is one place that you will want to stop. THIs is the tallest suspension bridge east of the Mississippi River. The Bridge is awesome. There is a place that you can stop and walk down the side of the mountain a little and see the bridge and actually get to see how high it really is above the river. They have picnic benches there that you can have a picnic and a Visitors Center that you can learn about the area and the bridge. If you are adventurous you can go on a white water rafting trip which offers various classes of rapids. Every year the third Saturday in October they close down one side of the bridge and hold a festival. This is the only time of year that you can walk across the bridge and look down over it. They will have bridge jumpers who will jump off the bridge.

While in Summersville you will also want to visit Summersville Lake. Here you can take a boat on the lake and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. They have a beach for the families, and picnic tables through out the lake area. There is nearby hotel and camping available for you to spend more than one day there. There are launch ramps, and fishing areas there. If you like hiking there are many hiking trails that you can hike on. Or just spend the day swimming.

If you are looking for something that is not quite explainable visit the Mystery Hole. Here you will find the strangest things and experiences about the laws of gravity. This is located near Hawk's Nest State park. It will keep you talking about your experiences there for quite awhile.

Summersville is on Route 19 in West Virginia it is easy to get to, and it is so beautiful there no matter what time of year you visit. It's so peaceful and yet these are places that can allow you to enjoy your time with your family while visiting these areas. While visiting there you will get back in touch with nature and see exactly how beautiful West Virginia really is.
