Vacation RV Style - A Look at RV Resorts

Antoinette McGowan
We have all seen RV parks scattered across the country. You can pull your RV in there and park for the night or a couple of nights for relatively low prices. You don't need a fancy RV to get into an RV park for the night or so. Television shows that portray RV parks show a certain type of person staying at an RV park. We have all seen those types of shows that portray people in RV parks as being the typical backwards rednecks.

Well that all is not quite true in the fact that there are some RV parks that are very upscale. These RV parks are typically considered to be RV resorts. I was shocked the first time I seen a television program showing all the different types of RV parks there were that was for the more upscale RV people out there. These parks were luxury resorts for RVs. So I got to checking around and found some very upscale RV parks/resorts out there.

Casa del Valle RV Resort

Located in Alamo, Texas this resort offers some very nice little amenities that one may not be aware are available in an RV park. But remember these are not your typical RV parks, these are resorts. The amenities here include two clubhouses, a heated swimming pool, spa and even shuffleboard. I like the fact that they offer shuffleboard, after all what is an RVing without the chance to play shuffleboard.

The rate at Casa del Valle is $29 for one night and includes electricity. The weekly rate is $175 and also includes electricity. They also offer monthly and longer rates such as 1-2 months will run you $428 a month and say 3 months will run you a total of $1,254 broken down into monthly payments of $418 a month.

You have to pay for electricity usage if staying 30 days or more. All sites no matter how long you stay include water and sewer.

Groves RV Resort

The Groves are offering a pretty upscale RVing experience for people of all ages. Some of the amenities that Groves offers are a recreational pavilion, TV lounge, library and game room, shuffleboard, horseshoes, heated swimming pool and they even offer Wi-Fi.

Rates are a little higher here at the Groves starting at $45 daily. Weekly rates will run you $278 per week. Their monthly rates are a little different also. For a full month in January or March you will pay $945 per month or for February you can stay for $960 for the month. All other months are $840 per month.

You have to pay for electricity usage is you are staying for 30 days or more. All sites no matter how long you stay include water and sewer.

Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort

Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort located in Panama City Beach, Florida has really taken RVing up a notch. They are offering a heated pool and spa, volleyball court, horseshoes, tournament quality shuffleboard courts, Wi-Fi and telephone services. They also offer you the chance to go freshwater fishing and even have a putting green.

Some other benefits of Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort are their resort activities such as an ice cream social and a resort cook out. Both are designed to get guest out and mingling with other guests.

Rough estimates of the rates at this resort are $48 daily, weekly rates are $287 and monthly rates are $995 for their summer rates. Their winter rates are the same all except for the monthly rate which is $720. These rates are based on only two people being in the RV. If you have additional people with you the rates will go up.

Electric, water and sewer are included in your stay along with daily trash removal.

These were just some of the RV resorts out there that offer luxury Rving experiences. There are a lot of RV resorts throughout the country running from relaxing resort experience to adventurous Rving resort experiences. Also some run from having a nice landscape with a few amenities to looking like a full blown yacht club. It is all in what you are wanting and how much you want to spend. Trust me you are no longer stuck with the stereotype RV Park anymore.

You obviously know your RV parks.

that was a great article. If people are interested in another great RV resort, you might look into the Walt Disney World Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. I actually wrote an article awhile back about it that you may check out, but to sum it up, it is pretty much a huge camping community for vacationers with RVs or others wishing to stay in a wood cottage. And being Disney it is pretty upscale and full of amenities, but they attempt to keep it rugged and "real" as much as possible. Just another idea to add to your great list of resorts.
