Vest
This cute valentine mail vest has a pocket to hold all your valentine mail. First, you will need a brown grocery bag, scissors, glue, red paint, a paintbrush, a pencil and some white tissue.
Cut the grocery bag along the seam. Now, cut out the bottom of the bag so you have a long piece of brown paper. Fold the piece in half and cut a neck hole at the fold and a 4-inch slit down the back. The grocery bag should fit over your head like a vest with half of the bag in front of you and half of the bag in back of you.
Fold the two front, bottom corners of the bag up and in to form the bottom point of a heart and glue them together. You now have a pocket for your mail. With your pencil, sketch the top part of the heart on the vest. Then, with your red paint, color the entire heart.
Once the paint has dried, outline the heart with white glue and stick shredded pieces of tissue around the heart to look like lace. You can also do this to write your name on the front of the vest if you like.
Heart Mailbag
The heart mailbag is for those who get lots of valentines and extra treats!
You will need a brown grocery bag, scissors, construction paper (red, white, and pink), glue, and a black marker.
First, cut a heart from the red construction paper as wide as the grocery bag and almost as tall as the bag. Now, glue the heart to the front of the bag. Trim around the top of the heart.
Cut a strip of paper from the trimmed-off piece for a handle for your bag. Glue the handle to the inside of the top of the bag at the front and back. Use your white and pink construction paper to make a face for your heart, a heart nose and cheeks, and add some eyes. Write your name on the front of the bag with your black marker.
You can use the heart mailbag for your valentine greetings and for any treats you get at your classroom party.
