Valentine's Balloon Bouquet - an Easy To Put Together Gift

It's Almost Valentine's Day

Susan Antonelli
If you want to put together a creative yet simple gift for your Sweetie this doesn't take much effort. You an even do one stop shopping in some stores. Stores like Target, or T.J. Maxx have just about everything you'll need. You can even find a lot of these items in a CVS or Walgreen's. The champagne and CD are optional.

What you'll need

Ribbon
Red tissue
Basket or Balloons
Red panties
Ferraro Rocher chocolates
Bath Salts or bath confetti (the confetti would be cuter)
Bath poufs (spongey scrubby)
Small red candles
Body lotion
Hershey's kisses
Romantic card
Champagne(this you may have to buy elsewhere)
Two plastic glasses
Romantic CD
Gift certificate for a facial or manicure (optional)

The basket version is very easy.

Put your box of chocolates, red panties, bath salts or confetti and pouf in the basket along with everything else but the candles. Tie a lot of ribbon to the handle of the basket .On your romantic card put a note saying follow the kisses. Put this near your tub. Place the little red candles all around the tub interspersed with candy kisses. Take your candy kisses and leave a trail of them leading to the bathtub (if you have a dog make sure he's locked up, mine would snag these). Have the champagne and two glasses (plastic) on the tub edge with the poufy scrub and a towel. By now the basket has been opened so you can have your romantic CD playing or leave this out of the basket to play as the evening goes on.

A little more complicates is the balloon version. Basically you will still prepare your bathtub with the candles and kisses as well as the trail of chocolate kisses leading to the bathtub. With the balloon version before blowing up each balloon you insert something in each one, the panties, several candy kisses, empty the bath confetti or bath salts into another balloon, If you've gotten a gift certificate , roll that up and put it in a balloon. The idea is to have something special in each balloon. You can pop the balloon with the salts and or confetti over the tub water. Bath bubbles or bath oils can be used as well. Body lotion is for afterwards and small travel sizes would fit in a balloon. You can tie the romantic card to the bouquet of balloons and I would get the pyramid shaped Ferraro Rocher chocolates and tape the bouquet to this .

The more time you leave yourself to run around the less you have to rely on one place for all the ingredients for this. For example, Walgreens definately has the pyramid shaped size Ferraro Rocher chocolate. If you can't find this shape though you can get the small boxes and pile them up a bit. Where I live Target, TJ Maxx and Walgreen's are all within 5 minutes of one another. In one aisle in Walgreens, the bath notions aisle, you can find loofah like bath gloves, bath fizzies (to put in the tub water), a packaged foot spa small enough to tuck into a balloon, lavender bath salts in a small package and a mini massager made of plastic. They also had the cutest little rubber duckies in red. You coud put one of those in the tub or in the basket to put into the tub. All of these were in the $2.99 to $3.99 range.

If you are out in the boon docks you can still do a balloon bouquet and just fill each with a notecard, I.O. U style, that offers a back rub, a foot rub, or any special treatment you're willing to offer. You can even make a card. Find a nice picture of the two of you together and write something wonderful on the back like, "I love the way we are together "or "We were meant for each other...". If you have a red pen write in that color.

Any or all of these items work well and aren't very expensive. The part that usually impresses the recipient is that you took the time and made the effort to do all this for her. Don't forget to have matches on hand to light the candles. Turn off your phone and have a wonderful evening. Happy Valentine's Day.

  • You can make a romantic Valentine's gift with just a few items and some balloons or a basket.
You can find most of these items in one store, one stop shopping.
