Valentine's Day for Rutgers Students and Nearby Young Professionals

The following are some Valentine's Day options for Rutgers students, young professionals, residents and more in the New Brunswick, NJ, area that meet various budgets and interests.

Kenilworth Vets Center & VFW 2230 Hosting Valentine's Day Dance. 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., Feb. 13. Tickets in advance are $25 and include draft beer, wine and soda; at the door, $30. Guests are invited to bring their own snacks. DJ Ed featuring sounds of the 1950s. Call 908-276-9769 for details.

The Hendrich Hotel Romance Package. Includes overnight accommodations at the hotel, valet parking, buffet breakfast for two and a $75 gift certificate to Christopher's, the hotel bar and restaurant. Starting at $199 per night. Book online or call 732-729-4670.

Due Mari Pesce E Vinoteca. Valentine's Day dinner: three-course prix fixe menu served 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. $55 per person. The restaurant is located on Albany Street between the train station and the Hyatt Hotel.

Starland Ballroom. Sayreville, NJ - the former location of club Hunka Bunka. The Used will be performing on February 14, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. $25 advance tickets, $28 at the door. All ages to enter, 21+ to drink.

Valentine's Day Afternoon Tea. Union, NJ Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University. From 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. at 1003 Morris Ave, for $50 per couple enjoy afternoon tea and a history lesson. Reservations are suggested.

Catherine Lombardi. The restaurant is located at 3 Livingston Ave. in New Brunswick, on the second floor of the building occupied by Stage Left Restaurant.They offer a couple of options for a Valentine's Day dinner, a three-course menu at lunch for 29.95 per person or dinner for 39.95 per person, or a premium three-course menu for only $10 more for lunch and dinner. If you are a big pasta fan, there is a pasta menu for $34.95 at dinner and $24.95 at lunch.

Hyatt Regency New Brunswick Romance Package. Approx. $199 ($149 without the package and just accommodations). Includes breakfast for two in the hotel restaurant, The Glasswoods Tavern, complimentary self parking for one vehicle, turndown service, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, and a late 3 p.m. checkout.

The Triumph of Love . 2 p.m. at the New Theatre. $25 for tickets, $20 for alumni, Rutgers employees, and seniors, $15 for students. The show will be at the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center, located on George Street. The play is described as "A sexual comedy worthy of Joe Orton or the Marx Brothers, The Triumph of Love reminds us that our struggles to mate have been hilarious for centuries."

The George Street Playhouse will be showing Calvin Berger at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. A story of young love, a musical comedy appropriate for children for approximately $54 per ticket.

Moscow State Radio Symphony Orchestra. At 3 p.m. there will be a Romantic Valentine's Day Matinee with tickets starting at $32 per person. Located at the State Theatre on Livingston Avenue.

    I was a volunteer at the playhouse one summer! How fun taking a walk down memory lane. Was just thru New Bruns. in Sept.
