There are many fun Valentine's Day items that can be included in a Valentine's Day care package. Valentine's Day candy is a great one. Heart-shaped suckers, roses made out of Hershey's kisses, and of course, Necco's conversation hearts, should all be included in your care package. You can even order personalized conversation hearts or other Valentine's Day candies online. Another candy to include is Sweetarts Hearts. While chocolate is a very popular Valentine's Day candy, think twice before including it in a care package. Even in the winter, you don't know what temperatures your care package will be exposed to, so consider your destination.
Valentine's Day cards are another fun item to include in a Valentine's Day Care Package. Buy a pack of kids' Valentine's with a favorite character or theme such as Harry Potter or My Little Pony. Even if the recipient thinks these are a bit childish, he or she will still think it is fun - and probably use them to give to friends! These aren't widely available overseas, so if you have a friend or relative living as an expat, these are a great item to include in a Valentine's Day care package.
If kid's Valentine's is just too silly for you, make some handmade cards complete with shiny paper and doilies. Or better yet, send materials for your loved one to make old-fashioned Valentines themselves.
Send a small teddy bear for your loved one to snuggle up to. This doesn't have to be expensive. You can probably find a nice, small-sized teddy bear at the dollar store, especially around Valentine's Day.
If you have a little more to spend on a care package for your loved one, put in a CD of romantic or silly love songs. Or you could even pick up a DVD of "A Charlie Brown Valentine" to put in your care package.
Be sure to include a handwritten letter. Email is great, but when you're far away, nothing beats seeing the handwriting of those you love.
Once your care package is all put together, add the perfect finishing touch with heart confetti. Use a large heart punch to make confetti from construction paper or cardstock. Or cut out lots of small hearts to hide in between the items in your care package.
