Valentines Day Couldn't Have Come at a Worse Time! (Part Three)
Scarlet walked to the store in her dirty wrinkled dress with high hopes in her heart of winning back Jeff's affection with her cooking. Scarlet wasn't a very accomplished cook. She mostly relied on fast food, and the few times she did cook, she normally made easy meals. Lasagna was one of the most complex things on Scarlet's menu, so she decided that's what she would cook. Scarlets mind was so occupied on wining Jeff back with the meal ahead of her, that she didn't realize that she had left her money at home. Scarlet called Jeff. Ring...Ring...
" What now?" answered Jeff.
" Jeff, I don't have any money with me, I left it all at home."
" Why would you do that? Did you seriously expect me to pay your way tonight?"
" Can I walk back and borrow some money to by the groceries?"
" You know, Scarlet, YOU ruined the night, so figure out a way to get the groceries."
" How am I supposed to do that?" Scarlet replied in a sad tone.
" Scarlet, either steal the groceries or don't come back." *Click*
Jeff hung up and Scarlet was left with the decision of committing a crime or losing Jeff. When it came down to it though, it really wasn't much of a decision at all.
Scarlet went down the aisles of the grocery store putting items in her basket with tears running down her face. Her make-up was starting to run. After she had all the items she needed, she took the basket down a single aisle where she was alone, then took off her overcoat and wrapped everything up inside of it. She then rolled the overcoat into a ball and hugged it. Holding her head down and walking at a fast pace, Scarlet started to exit the grocery store. Before she could make it out of the store, she was stopped by a clerk. Scarlet started crying as the clerk took her to the back office and called the cops.
The cop that showed up was Officer Mickey Coolidge, a young well-groomed man. He was well-mannered and friendly and, since he was raised by a single mother, had deep respect for women. His father was a low life womanizer and a criminal which was his motivation for becoming a cop.
" How you holding up?" Officer Coolidge spoke to Scarlet in a soft friendly tone.
" Are you going to arrest me?" Scarlet asked the officer while sobbing.
" Listen, it looks like you were having a pretty bad Valentines Day even before you got caught. A pretty girl shouldn't be put in a situation where she has to steal a nice Valentines Day dinner. I'm going to make sure that nothing happens to you."
Scarlet looked up at Officer Coolidge and said, "Thank you."
Officer Coolidge went back and talked with the store's manager. When he came back he told Scarlet that she was free to go. As officer Coolidge walked back to his car, Scarlet passed him and continued walking down the road. Officer Coolidge pulled his car up next to Scarlet. "Do you need a ride?"
Scarlet smiled and said "Yes," and jumped in the car. Officer Coolidge started talking.
" I'm off in an hour can I take you out?"
" Sorry I have to get back to my date."
Officer Coolidge was familiar with women who got wrapped up with jerks. "OK, but if you change your mind, call me." He handed her a card with his phone number.
" K, thanks." Scarlett got out the car and went to Jeff's door. Knock... Knock...
Jeff opens the door. "Where's the food?"
" Jeff, just let me in, it's a long story." Scarlet was irritated and didn't want any crap.
" No, I said come back with food or don't come back at all."
Scarlet wasn't in the mood to hear this so she started to walk into Jeff's house. Jeff grabbed her, there was a struggle between the two of them, then Jeff threw her out of the house pushing her to the ground hard.
In the background, Officer Coolidge was watching concerned for Scarlet. The enraged police officer stormed towards Jeff. "That is no way to treat a lady!" he shouted.
Jeff ran inside his house and locked the door. Without breaking stride, officer Coolidge kicked Jeff's door off its hinges. He pushed Jeff to the ground and proceeded to walk through Jeff's house straight for the kitchen. The Officer picked up a kitchen knife, walked over to Jeff and said, "You know what I can do with this?"
Jeff screamed like a little girl who had just seen a shark. Officer Coolidge cut his own arm and handed the knife to Jeff. "You're an armed man, I can now legally beat you to death!" Jeff screamed even louder this time. Officer Coolidge punched Jeff in the mouth mid scream when his mouth was fully open and Jeff dropped the knife.
As Scarlet was watching the beating Jeff was taking she lost all feelings for him and began to fall for her "knight in shining armor." After Jeff's beating, he was arrested for assaulting a police officer with a deadly weapon. Jeff was a very pretty man and went to prison where pretty men are always appreciated.
Mickey's arm got stitched up on-site and his shift for that night ended in front of Jeff's house. From there he and Scarlet went off to dinner where they laughed, talked and danced the night away.
Mickey took Scarlet home and was invited up where they both had a couple of drinks under softly dimmed lights while listening to romantic music. Mickey made Scarlet forget about all her troubles. The two danced closer and closer until the tension became too much. They both exploded into a fit of passion, ripping off each others clothes until they were both totally nude. Mickey's passion came to a sudden halt at the sight of a 6-inch string descending from between Scarlet's legs. Scarlet had totally forgotten she was on her period and felt so embarrassed.
" Uh I got to go, " Mickey said, then started to dress.
" Yeah I understand," replied Scarlet solemnly.
Love just wasn't in the cards for Scarlet on that night, but the two still see each other and are engaged to be married. Scarlet laughs at the funny "how we met" story that they could someday tell their kids.
