Valentine's Day Craft for Kids: How to Make a Friendship Box

BS
Valentine's Day doesn't have the same meaning for children as it does for adults, but they love it anyway. As that special day approaches, children begin to get excited and anxious to start the preparations. Valentine's day for children is more about friendship than love. Even for adults, Valentine's Day can be a day to remember and show appreciation for your friendships. Whether you are an adult looking for a Valentine's Day present for your best friend or simply looking for a cool craft for your child to give to all of their friends or classmates at the class party, this friendship box is always a great choice.

Materials

-empty box (size doesn't matter, although the smaller sizes are best)

-scissors

-glue that dries clear

-ribbon

-Valentine's Day wrapping paper (or an alternative)

-friendship poem

Instructions

1. There are three different ways to do this Valentine's Day friendship box. You can put the poem on top of the box, and leave the box empty. You can put the poem inside the box (if you choose this option see step 3). You can also put the poem on top of the box and add a small gift inside if you wish. Whatever you choose is fine.

2. If you have chosen to put the poem inside, or to put a gift inside the box, the first step is to put that inside the box. If you have chosen to leave the box empty, then the first step is to wrap the box. To do this, you can use wrapping paper with a Valentine's Day theme or decorative paper. You can even paint the box if you want to, but this will take more time and if you have to do quite a few, you may want to stick with the paper.

3. Once your box is decorated, move on to the poem (if you have chosen to put the poem inside the box, this should have been your first step). You can create your own poem, or you can find a very well-known poem, or you can search online. Friendship poems are very easy to find, so you should not have a hard time. If you want to write this on a piece of paper yourself, you can do that. Another option is to adjust the font and size of the lettering for the poem and print it out from the computer.

4. Once you have written or printed the poem out, trim the edges of the poem so that there is not a lot of empty space. You can use decorative scissors if you have them, or you can even do your own decorating of the edges.

5. Before gluing the poem to the box, take the ribbon and tie it around the box. Once the bow is tied, all that's left to complete the friendship box is the friendship poem. Glue the friendship poem to the top of the box (if you didn't chose to put it inside the box). Let the glue dry and you're ready to give your friendship box away as the perfect Valentine's Day gift.

You can also substitute the friendship poem for a love poem and give this to your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, or wife.
