Valentines' day is almost here and you may be wondering what to do for your spouse. If you have children you may even wonder what they should give for Valentines' as well. It isn't easy with little ones to make the appropriate decision that will allow you to keep your sanity. But, there are options that take very little time and are fun for even the most energetic toddler. If you have manila paper, finger paint, and paper plates; you are ready for a quick and stress free Valentines' day gift extravaganza.

In some cases you may want to have all of your craft material set up before you bring the child to the table. This can make it a lot less stressful for you and easier for the child to see that they are in for some Valentines fun. Have one color of finger paint out on a paper plate and a piece of manila paper in front of the chair where the child will be sitting. On top of that a nice box of baby wipes to the side could prove helpful as well as an art apron. The easiest Valentines' gift is a picture of their hand prints. Bring the child to the table and dip both and hands in the paint on the paper plate. Then place the child's hands on the manila paper. After removing the kids hands from the paper, grab the wipes and clean up. Write the kid's name, age, and date at the bottom and your Valentine is ready.

Another easy idea involves, water colors and manila paper cut in the shape of a heart. Have the paper already cut in the shape of a heart. Set out a cup of water brushes and water colors. This is definitely a supervised art project and you should time it also. Timers are great for getting a project done without driving anyone insane. Fifteen minutes is adequate time to get it done and keep the interest of your child. Give the child a heart shape piece of manila paper and allow them to create any picture on it for the time alloted. When the fifteen minutes are up, grab the wipes and clean up. Let the child go play and place their name, age, and the date on the heart. Easily, your Valentine is finished.

Easy ideas for you and you child can be tough to think of. Valentines' day is a good time to explore projects of any kind. There is alway something you can do with them. Other good Valentines' gift ideas are simply allow them to give their parents a page they colored from their coloring book, let them create a finger painting, or just help them make a card. It is simple to do these things and if they are properly planned and set up before the child starts, they can be fun instead of stressful. There are lots of kits at you local craft stores that may help as well.

Remember, the things that work for you and your family and you can repeat them for other events as well as other Valentines' Days. If you use simple things, have what you need ready to go, and expect to spend an amount of time that is appropriate for your child's attention span then you can not go wrong. Creating a Valentine can be simple and fun for all involved. Stick to you plan and have wipes handy and you will find that it can be a lot less stressful as well. If you decide to buy a kit at you local retail store take into consideration the ability of your child and the time it would take to create a Valentine' using the kit. It may not be what is best for you. Sometimes sticking to the simple plans proves to be the most memorable and enjoyed.
