Valentines Day Crafts for Kids

Kids love creating their own cards and crafts for Valentine's Day. Valentine's is the perfect holiday for a child to be creative with their gifts for their parents and grandparents and well as their cards and party decorations for the home or the class. You can use stickers as party gifts and cupcakes and straw sliders are great for club or school parties.

Paper crafts (such as heart themed decorations and craft gifts for the family and their friends) are a favorite of kids crafts for Valentine's Day. Most Valentine's Day crafts for children are cheap to make and use recycled materials or supplies that can be found around the house.

In the classroom, kids may craft Valentine's bookmarks or practice writing on Valentine's lined paper. Students can write personal cards for Valentine's Day and then seal it with a sticker or stamp. Kids love to make their own mailboxes to receive their valentines in from their fellow classmates.

Coloring sheets are fun and cheap craft ideas for kids. Parents can print off coloring sheets whenever they want to so they are convenient with no trips to the store to purchase a coloring book. Parents can easily find age-appropriate children's coloring pages which suit their abilities.

This Valentine's, you can even teach your child how to bake a cake. You can let them help you as you make preparations and go through the steps in baking a cake. They can then present the cake as a gift to their dad, grandparents, or even a close friend.

Making treat bags for a few of your kids' special friends is simple. Cut two matching hearts from thick card stock or cardboard. You can use a hole punch so that you can make holes at the lower tip of each heart. Punch out holes along the sides and then take some string and sew the two shapes together. Do not add holes to the top of the hearts for this will be the opening to the bag. A long string can be used to make a handle. You can let you child add candy to each heart bag.

Do not forget to decorate your home for Valentine's. Try making a garland out of hearts cut from construction paper and put it over the door. You may create a wreath out of hearts cut from red and pink construction paper. You can cut them out and put them on the outer ring of a plate and then put "Happy Valentine's" inside.
