Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids Using Felt

Felt flowers a great crafts for kids to make and give away for Valentine's Day. For this craft you will need felt sheets, a pen, green pipe cleaners, a button, and scissors. Start by helping kids cut several small circles from the felt. Then help kids poke two holes in the center of each circle.

Twist the ends of two pipe cleaners together and push them through the holes in the button. Make sure to pull the pipe cleaners all the way through so the button is in the center where they are twisted together.

Then help kids push the ends of the pipe cleaners through the holes in the felt. When a few felt circles have been added, push them all the way up to the button. Help kids hold the flower petals together tight and twist the pipe cleaners all the way down to the bottom to make a strong stem. These felt flowers are a fun and easy for kids to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Sweetheart Cookies

These felt crafts are great for Valentine's Day because they can send a variety of messages. For this craft you will need pink, white, cream, and red felt, scissors, fabric glue, cotton, and fabric paint. Start by cutting the felt into two cream colored circles.

Help kids outline the edge of the circle with glue. Place some cotton on the middle of the circle. Place the other cream circle on top of that. Allow the glue to dry before decorating these sweetheart cookies. It is important to allow the glue to dry overnight if you want your felt craft to hold up in the long run.

Then help kids cut hearts out of the other felt sheets and glue them to the front of the cookies. Use the fabric paint to add details and messages to the front of the cookies. These sweat crafts are ready for giving away or placing around the home when the glue and paint has dried overnight.
