Materials
-Styrofoam wreath (whatever size you want)
-ribbon
-hot glue gun and glue
-Sweetheart candies (of various sizes)
-scissors
Instructions
1. The most important thing in this project is to make sure that you have enough of what you need. The ribbon will go around the Styrofoam wreath, so take into consideration the size and be sure that you have enough ribbon to cover the whole thing. Also make sure that you have enough Sweetheart candy to cover one of the sides of the wreath. If you begin to project without enough, you'll have to stop in the middle of the craft.
2. The first step is to choose a ribbon. Red is an obvious choice, but any color is fine. Before cutting the ribbon, wrap it around the Styrofoam wreath and get a rough estimate of how much you will need, then cut the ribbon,
3. Plug in the hot glue gun and let it heat up. Once it's ready. Hot glue the ribbon to the side of the wreath. Make sure that you cover both the inside and the outside, without leaving any Styrofoam visible. Let the glue dry for a little while before moving on, it shouldn't take long since hot glue usually dries quickly.
4. Now you're ready for the candy. The Sweetheart candies are the small hearts that have little Valentine's Day sayings on them, such as "Be Mine" and "I Love You." You will most likely need more than one package, so dump out the candies so you can see what colors and sizes are available. Do not glue them on immediately. Before you do any of the gluing, position the heart candy on the wreath so that you can make sure you like the layout.
5. Once you have found a layout for the candy hearts that you like. Glue them on individually. You only need a small drop of hot glue on the candy for it to stick.
6. Once you have finished gluing one the Sweetheart candy, you can choose to leave your Valentine's Day wreath as is, or you can add another layer if you want to and have enough candy. If you choose to add another layer, make sure you do the same thing that you did with the first layer, do not glue immediately.
7. When you are satisfied with your wreath, you can hang it or give it away. It may be a little fragile so be careful when you are handling it. WARNING: This is not for eating!
