Valentine's Day Date - a Night Out You Can Afford

Surprise Your Lover with This Great Free Date

Sarah Holmes
How often can a Valentine's Date be classified as "Free". However this date is free to put together and it will create memories for years to come. If you are a loving husband, I highly recommend putting together this free date with a few extra optional items which may cost some additional money. You can do this without spending anything or with buying a few extras - your choice. Either way this will be a date to remember and don't be surprised if it ends up being her favorite.

If you have children, you can either get a babysitter to watch your kids away from home OR you can simply wait until they are in bed. Depending on your wife, she may simply prefer they are asleep in their beds. This gives her the security of knowing they are nearby without the stress of caring for them.

Another important reminder is be sure to prep the bathroom by cleaning it well before her arrival.

Start with a Homemade Valentine's Day Card or Note

Start with a homemade valentine's day card or love note. If you are in need of ideas, I am sure you can find an associated content article about creating a homemade Valentine's Day card or writing a love note. I recommend you read my article called "Valentine's SMS Messages" for more ideas.

You might want to end your note with: "P.S. Now, Head to the Bathroom for a Bubbly Surprise."

Warm Bathtub with Bubbles

Fill the bathtub with Bubbles. It is highly likely your wife has a bubble bath available or you can use a shower gel. Here is where something extra comes in: Your wife would LOVE it if you went to choose a surprise bubble bath for her. You can find them at your local Wal-mart or for something extra special Bath & Body Works. Tie a note with a ribbon around it (only on a NEW bottle mind you or it could lose its special meaning) and write the words, "For You".

Spa

Now treat her to something special: give her a massage, offer to wash her hair for her (be sure to give her a head massage - if you aren't sure how I am sure you can find instructions online, but using your fingertips in a circular motion with a good amount of pressure should work), clip her finger nails and toes, use a file on her fingernails, paint her fingernails, and perhaps give her a pedicure.

Dimly light the bathroom using several lit candles. Be sure not to place anything where it could actually burn. If you are hesitant about using actual candles, Glade has some fake candles available. However, a word to the wise: these candles do not look very real.

Fun & Optional Extras

You can buy a bottle of nice champaigne for the special occasion along with her favorite dessert. Some women would be just as happy with sparkling red or white grape juice and a box of chocolates. Be sure to have the items in the bathroom ready for her arrival.

A Warm Towel

Grab a warm towel from the dryer and bring it to her as she gets out of the tub. To do this, wet a towel and squeeze it out so it is lightly damp. Then place it in the dryer before the bath. This way it will be nice and warm 30-45 minutes later when you need it.

Hair & Make-up

This is optional, but I recommend it. Next dry her hair with a blow dryer. Then leave out her make-up. An extra special touch would be to BUY her some make-up (a brand you know she likes) and have it ready for her.

Allow her to style her hair, but you may offer a recommendation of a style you prefer. Be easy going though as some hairstyles are more comfortable than others.

Outfit

Have an Outfit or Pajama in the bathroom ready for her to put on. Be sure to pick something you like and she will be comfortable wearing.

Extra Special Options

Buy her a new pajama or lingerie for the occasion and have it waiting for her. Something girly - pink with hearts is best (unless your wife doesn't like that type of thing). I recommend a silk pajama. However, you may want to choose any type of pajama, lingerie, or dress. Be sure to pick something she will feel beautiful and comfortable in and you find attractive. Women enjoy dress-up so something which matches the occassion is an added bonus.

Movie or Game

Now bring her in to watch a favorite chick flick or play a favorite board game with you. Be sure to let her know tonight is about her happiness. An optional extra here would be to purchase her favorite movie or game she has wanted for awhile and have it wrapped for her in the living room or on the bed.

... and.... and.... you left out the best part, didn't you? :) I know this is supposed to be a free date, but if you can afford it, this would be a REALLY nice idea at a nice hotel where they have big bathtubs. And some hotels have towel warmers. Otherwise, I've put mine on the radiator and it works just fine. Nice piece.
