Valentine's Day Doesn't Have to Be About Sappy Cards and Roses

Heighten Your Senses for a Sensual Day

Ryanick Paige
While most people go out to dinner and a movie on Valentine's Day you can use this time to let your creativity shine. It is not all about fancy dinners and roses or mushy cards that make you cry. You can make Valentine's Day special by adding creative touches to the day and not by how much money you spend. Love is not shown by the brand of wine or the number of roses but by the amount of love that is put into each preparation.

Part of being creative is hidden little touches that will make you loved on smile and warm his heart. Start Valentine's Day off by packing his lunch. You can send him a hidden message in personalized M&M's. Attach a note to the baggy that says, "Unscramble the words to see what your night will hold" or something to that affect. Put heart shaped post it notes with loving messages in his lunch. Or if he is the macho type that wouldn't appreciate this touches or eats out, you could put a gift card to his favorite lunch spot with a note that says how much you love him and are thinking of him. The way to a mans heart is through his stomach so your creative touches are bound to be noticed.

To create a fabulously romantic dinner for two at home just takes a little planning. Just be sure to address each of the senses for a sensual evening. Each of the senses plays a role in making your evening a success. By dimming the lights or using candles your eyes will only see what they are looking for and allow you other senses to heighten. Use candles or scented oils to delight the sense of smell. Use fabrics and finger foods to enhance your sense of touch. A soft array of your favorite songs in the background will bring pure delight to your ears. Mystify your taste buds with sweet, sour, salty, and savory. They will not know what to expect next.

Being creative does not necessary mean crafty. Creativity is often just remembering the details to matter most and knowing how to make them work for you. A sensual and creative Valentine's Day does not have to be filled with paper hearts in red and pink or mushy cards that make you cry. It is about loving someone and showing them how much you love them.
