A great way to celebrate friendship is to make something special for your friends. There are a lot of fun crafts that kids can make and give to their friends.
Friendship bracelets are really fun and can be made from a lot of different types of materials. You can make bracelets out of floss, yarn, beads, pasta, etc. If this is class project you could have all the kids draw names and make a friendship bracelet for the person whose name they get. Let the girls draw girls' names and the boys draw boys' names.
Handmade cards make great gifts for your friend. You can really show them how much you care about them and they will cherish the time and effort it took for you to make the card.
Drawing a portrait of your friend can be a lot of fun. For a classroom project, pair off all the kids and equipped them with pencils and drawing paper. Have one child be the model and make a silly face while the other one to draws their friend. Then switch. This can create a lot of laughter and the kids will have a great time. Then show all the portraits to everyone in the classroom.
Paper treasure boxes are fun to make and give to friends as gifts. You can print templates from the internet or purchase a template from your local craft store. If you have a Cricut cutting machine or other die cutting machine you could cut the boxes from your machine. You will want to use heavy cardstock or construction paper so that they will be sturdier than using patterned paper. Let the kids decorate the boxes with artificial flowers, gems, glitter, etc.
Friendship bookmarkers make great friendship gifts. This would make a great class project as it promotes reading and the children can use their bookmarkers in the books they are reading for school. Bookmarkers can be made out of cardstock or construction paper and embellished with just about anything. If possible, have all the bookmarkers laminated so that they will last longer and the embellishments will stay on.
