Pin the Heart on Cupid
Cupid is a traditional symbol of Valentine's Day and he also makes a great focal point for a game for preschoolers. For this game you will need a large picture of cupid, small paper hearts, tape, and a blindfold. Start by giving each child a heart with a piece of tape and spin them around. Now they must pin the heart as close as they can to cupids heart. You may want to draw a heart where the heart should go to avoid arguments about who the winner is.
Compliment Game
This is a fun game for preschoolers, and it is also a nice way to make children feel good about themselves. Start by placing the names of all the kids in a hat. Next have each preschooler draw a name and hold on to it. Now go around in a circle and have the preschoolers give the person whose name they have a compliment. This is a fun game, and kids can really be creative; for older preschoolers you can tell the kids that they must use the first letter of the persons name as the first letter of the compliment they are going to give.
Valentine Making Contest
Another Fun Valentine's Day game for preschoolers is a valentine making contest. For this game you will need paper, crayons, lace, scissors, glue, glitter, and other fun craft items. Now give the preschoolers half an hour to create their valentine. Have the kids vote on several categories such as prettiest, largest, funniest, and so on. Award the preschoolers with candy, and make sure they all win a prize. This is a fun game that will allow preschoolers to be creative.
Valentine's Day Treasure Hunt
Split preschoolers into groups, and give them a map to find the hidden Valentine's Day treasure. This game will require that you create maps and hide prizes ahead of time, but it will be a blast for children. Remember to give them clues and help along the way and they will be glad to share their prize with you when they find it.
Playing games on Valentine's Day with your preschoolers is a great way to show how much you care about them. It is also the perfect way to express how important friendship and love is. Try these games with your preschoolers this Valentine's Day, and you will be glad you did.
