Valentine's Day Gift Ideas for Your Guy

Leslie D
My fiancé recently complained to me that girls get all the holidays. "Christmas, Valentine's Day, our anniversary, your birthday," he said, "pretty much every holiday that requires a gift is for the girl." I tried to protest and tell him this wasn't true, but for many men, it is. I have tried my best over the years to find acceptable presents to make my guy's holidays more than just another "girl holiday," but in every girl's defense, it is tough. Really tough. Guys don't like flowers, most of them don't wear jewelry, and flowers don't interest them. Here are some new ideas I've found for a Valentine's present for my fiancé this year. Hopefully they will be helpful to some other girls as well.

Vintage Hubcap Clock. Seller StarlingInk on Etsy ( www.etsy.com ) offers real vintage hubcaps which have been turned into clocks. Hubcaps are available from a variety of vintage cars including the Ford Mustang, Cadillac, Chevy Camaro, and the Volkswagen VW Beetle. If your guy is a car enthusiast, this is a unique gift for him at a reasonable price. Prices range from $19.99 to $69.99.

Personal Boudoir Session. Boudoir sessions (basically having some sexy pics taken) have become increasingly popular recently, and guys like them. This is another unique gift that you should be able to fit within most price ranges, depending on what pictures you order and what photographer you visit. One piece of advice, make sure you do your research and determine that the photographer you go to is a reputable and established photographer. Or, you can take the pictures yourself if you have a delay timer on your camera. Prices can be obtained by contacting local photographers for quotes.

Stadium Seat/Court Cufflinks. Uncommon goods has a lot of gifts that are, well, uncommon, and they are currently selling men's cufflinks which are made from actual reclaimed basketball courts (Boston Garden and Madison Square Garden) and baseball stadium seats. The cufflinks are available at www.uncommongoods.com and range in price from $150.00 to $270.00.

Pillow Remote Control. Brookstone stores are now selling pillows that are fully functional remote controls. Your guy won't have to worry about losing the remote again...and you won't have to listen to him complain about it. Price is $34.95

You can get other ideas for presents for your guy by considering his own interests. After all, every guy is different. Try to think of things he gets really excited about, and then start searching for business or websites that offer products tailored to those interests. You may be surprised that you can find unique gifts that he actually gets excited about.
