Valentine's Day Gifts on a Budget

Ryanick Paige
Valentine's Day is right around the corner and money is tight for most everyone. However, even on a budget you can still show someone how much you love them. The most important things to remember when giving a Valentine's Day on a budget is that the gift is not about the money. It is about showing the person you love how you feel about them and expressing those feeling to them.

Dinner

Instead of a dinner at a fancy restaurant, cook your Valentine's Day dinner at home for just a fraction of the cost. You can prepare a fantastic dinner for your loved one complete with candlelight and soft music and make it just as special as a high priced Valentine's Day dinner at a restaurant.

Coupon Book

Give your loved one a coupon book for a Valentine's Day gift when your on a budget. Include coupons like one lawn mowing, one night of dishes, one day worth of laundry or anything else you can think of. These coupons are to give you loved one time off from their normal activities any time the choose to use them not just on Valentine's Day.

Camping

Unless you live in a warm climate, camping in February is out of the question. However, for a Valentine's Day gift on a budget plan a trip now to go camping when the weather gets warmer if you want to sleep in a tent. Or you could rent a cabin during the off-season months for a fraction of the cost that it would cost in the summer time. Find a cabin that has a fireplace for heat and you are good to go for a cozy romantic weekend getaway for a Valentine's Day gift on a budget. Plan your meals so you can bring all the supplies you need so that you don't have to leave the cozy cabin for the length of your stay, that is unless you want to.

Massages

Massages can be expensive. You can buy a massage kit for a reasonable price and surprise your loved one with a massage. It could be something as simple as a massage with warmed baby oil or more elaborate like a hot stone massage. Nothing is more relaxing than having the stress and worries of the day being massaged out of your body and mind.

Date Night

You can even go all out when planning Valentine's day on a budget by having a date night at home. Put the kids to bed or or send the to grandma's if you can. Have your loved one go take a nice hot shower or soak in the tube while you are preparing dinner. His way they can relax and prepare for the nights festivities. After dinner move the furniture out the way and put on your dancing shoes. Turn on your favorite CD and have a ball dancing the evening away. Once you are exhausted from dancing pop a movie in the DVD player and snuggle on the couch together watching your favorite flick or a new release.
