Valentine's Day Gifts for Her Under Thirty Dollars

Lisa Riggs
Valentine's Day is typically celebrated by the exchanging of gifts between romantic partners. While you may love her so much that you wish you could shower her with diamonds and pearls, this may not be within your budget. Rest assured, that your affection is not measured by the amount of money spent on a gift. Here are some ideas on how to get your feelings across to your lady love, without spending more than a ten and a twenty.

Stack of Romantic Movies. Whether she prefers the classics starring Cary Grant or Jimmy Stewart, or Brad Pitt and George Clooney are more her style, you can surely score a few romantic movie DVDs for less than thirty dollars. Seek out clearance and close out bins at electronics and discount department stores. Tie the movies up with a red ribbon and attach a thoughtful card. She will surely love cuddling up with you this Valentine's Movie to enjoy the flicks.

Picnic in a Basket. A loaf of crusty bread, several blocks of cheese and a bunch of grapes can be purchased for around ten dollars. Spend the remaining twenty on a bottle of sparkling wine and two slices of cake from the bakery department of the grocery store. Fill a wicker basket you have on hand with these items plus wine glasses and a thin blanket or tablecloth you already own. Share a romantic picnic together on the living room floor.

Salon Service. Many salons offer a plethora of discounts on their services around Valentine's Day. You may not be able to buy her a day of beauty for thirty dollars, but you should be able to find a place that is offering a manicure and pedicure package for that price. Offer to drive her to and from her appointment to make her feel truly special.

Book of Poetry or Romantic Short Stories. A beautiful hard cover volume of poems or short stories that focus on romance will clearly express your deepest feelings for that special lady. Place a tab in the pages of your favorite poem that reminds you of her. Write an inscription in the front cover of the book wishing her a wonderful holiday and your hopes to share many more together.

Holiday Themed Bouquet and Chocolates. If you would like to offer your wife or girlfriend a traditional Valentine's Day gift, roses are not the only choice in flowers. Your local florist can make you up a small, but sweet arrangement with a few holiday touches. A heart shaped box of candy can accompany the flowers for a lovely gift that does not go over your thirty dollar budget.

Cozy Pajamas. This romantic holiday falls in the middle of one of the coldest months of the year. A cozy and warm pair of pajamas will keep her warm and ensure that she thinks of you every time she wears them. Choose a pair with hearts or bows and arrows to add a bit of fun and festivity.
