Valentines Day Gifts: I'm Broke with No Money

Summer Banks
Not everyone is going to jump into the private jet and fly their lover to Paris for Valentines Day. On a strict budget with no money, Valentines Day gifts need to be romantic and downright cheap. There are cheap Valentines Day gifts and then there are cheap cheap Valentines Day gifts. It is important to understand the different between saving money and giving the gift of love he (or she) will throw right back in your face.

Beg, Borrow and Steal - Ingredients That Is!

You have to know a few people that have groceries in the house. The best Valentines Day gifts are the ones that take some thought and time and that is just what cooking is all about. Your lover never has to know the ingredients were borrowed from every family member and friend in a 10-mile radius. Collect ingredients you know how to cook for his (or her) Valentines Day gifts, but also pick up some garnish along the way to make the dish look perfect. Here are a few dishes you may want to try:

Breakfast: Fluffy Egg Omelet with Three Cheeses - Garnish with meat like ham or bacon crumbled.

Lunch: Monte Cristo Sandwich - Garnish with powdered sugar, jam, jelly or syrup.

Dinner: Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce - Garnish with something green like parsley, celery leaves or lettuce.

Get Creative and Order Free Brochures

Do you want to take your lover around the world as part of the Valentines Day gifts package? Well, you're broke so that is not going to happen, be your lover never needs to know. Order as many free brochures from exotic locales as you can get your hands on. Take a large piece of cardboard and borrow a glue stick from your little niece or nephew and stick them all to the cardboard. You have just created a collage of love and a bucket list to complete together at the same time for ZERO dollars. That is one of the cheapest (most inexpensive) Valentines Day gifts you could ever give.

Let's Get Serious and Pop the Questions

There are some Valentines Day gifts that just can't be borrowed from friends, but that doesn't mean family is out of the question. Mom or grandma may just have an old ring lying around that they never wear. Ask if there is an old piece of jewelry they no longer use and regift it to your lover. This gift is aimed more at the man gifting to the woman, but could go either way depending on the jewelry.

For the ultimate of all Valentines Day gifts, an engagement ring, you can also turn to family. All you need to do is tell her "This was my mother's ring" or "This was my grandmother's ring" and she will never ask about the total value. It could come out of a Cracker Jack box and the love will make it more valuable than any of the other Valentines Day gifts you have ever given.
