Teenage years are full of adventure, fun, friends, music, cars, family holidays, school, church, spring break, vacations, shopping, malls, movies and just plain hanging out. What about teenagers and the Valentine love of their lives? According to a poll of 142 teenagers, most have a Valentine and they are a part of the Valentine's Day buying power for chocolates, candy, roses, flowers, and jewelry.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2007 Americans consumed 24.5 pounds of candy each per capita. In 2006, American companies shipped $13.9 billion of chocolate and cocoa products and $7.2 billion of nonchocolate candy. The wholesale cut flower business in America in 2007 was $416 million, of which $29 million was for cut roses. In February 2008, American jewelry stores sold $2.6 billion of merchandise.

I asked 142 teenagers in Salt Lake City, Utah if they had a Valentine and what they want to give and receive for Valentine's Day on February 14. Of the 142 teenagers, 77 were boys and 65 were girls. Here are the teenager responses about Valentine's Day:
