Valentine's Day. A day of waking up in the morning and wishing your true love (or love that day) eternal bliss and happiness by scheduling a hectic day to dash to buy flowers, gifts, set up times for openings for a restaurant, find a great movie, etc......

But what do you do if by some chance, you don't have a loved one? Never found that certain guy or girl? Recent breakup? Your true love just passed away? What do the rest of us do?

Well, for one, don't pass up the holiday without getting out there. This is a list of 5 things that during my findings, single people like to do during this season of love and romance. Do yourself a favor. Get out there and try one, depression was never a cure for loneliness.

1. Grab Family instead

No one said you had to find an intimate loved one for Valentine's Day. Find out what your family is doing. Call your mom up. Drag you sister to the mall. Big brother's usually like to eat, right? Have a cookout in the living room. Family is one of the most important things established into your life during these trying times. show them that you still love them. Don't just call, plan something with them. Of course, you have to make sure they don't have plans of intimacy that day, but believe me, you won't be the only single one in the family.

2. Pet Day

During my recent findings of what single folks do on Valentine's day, I've noticed that a lot of groomers are especially busy. Why not? some of us out there actually have pets that love us just as dearly as any person, right? Fido could use that nail service, or Spot could do with a hair cut, you know. Most of us never realize that Valentine's Day is just as good for pets as people, so do your self a favor, take your pet out. your cat needs another toy, the head on that toy mouse has been gone for too long.

3. Pre-Spring Cleaning

Now, now, before you get yourself in a gander over this one, please read further. No one likes to clean during this festive lovefest. I don't blame you. I don't either, but look at it this way:

There are things that need to be done. Look at your bed sheets. They need to be thrown away. Check out that crazy shower curtain. That thing has had it. Go out and buy a new one. do the rugs in the living room still match? Get the picture? When doing the mondaine right now, you save yourself a heartache doing this now instead of later. Throw away that plant that you know for a fact is not gonna grow. Go shopping for a new set of plants, which takes us to one of my favorite things to do this holiday.

4. Shopping

In society today, most couples start putting back money to celebrate Valentine's Day. flowers, candy, gifts, restaurant expenses, movies, etc. Why not make this your day? Go shopping! Make it an all day event. you deserve it. Buy something expensive, or better yet, buy things for you place to make it a lot happier. Don't coop yourself up in that bedroom of yours, get out! Life is for the living, so live.

5. Find a friend

You're not the only one out there. Valentine's day takes a toll on everyone that doesn't have a partner. No, this doesn't have to be an intimate date, or a reunion of sorts from a past love experience, just a time to celebrate with someone else. Whatever you do, don't stay home blaming yourself on a love life that crashed, or a partner that went away, either by their chose or theirs. some of us had the realization of also losing someone that might've just past away. Don't dwell on this. Do something for yourself. you are now the most important person you"ll have right now, and there is one saying I did come up with. Remember this:

You Need you.

Happy valentine's Day!

Doesn't sound like much fun does it. During the last 30 years of celebrating this holiday, our society has once again taken a holiday of cheerful merriment and love, and commercialized it into a market.
