Valentines Day Ideas for Kids

Gift Vouchers:

For kids: A few vouchers for something like a night at the movies, an afternoon at the roller rink, to rent a game or movie at your local Blockbusters or video store, a visit to a museum or the zoo. What ever your child enjoys doing would make a nice voucher. Staple the ends to make a little voucher booklet.

Candy Heart:

Take a thin piece of cardboard or poster board and cut out a heart about 10" by 10". Cut out the middle of the heart, so it is about 3"- 4" wide. Take wrapped candy such as tootsie rolls, peppermint candies or even some bite size candy bars. Starting on the inside of the heart, staple the edges of the candy wrapper onto the heart. Repeat around the heart, and then do the same for a few more layers.

Gift bag:

Buy a Valentines Day bag or decorate a lunch bag with hearts.
Fill it with some of your child's favorite candy or homemade goodies. You can add some stickers in the bag, small cans of play dough or a little stamp kit. A card game such as Fish or Uno, depending on their age, a book, silly putty, a slinky, punch ball or paddle ball are all things that could be added to a gift bag.

Gift Basket:

If you want to go a step up from the gift bag, you can do a gift basket. Get a basket the size you would like and line it with red tissue paper. For the younger children you can put some candies, toys, bubble bath, bath toys, silly string, play dough, travel size games or etch a sketch. For the older children you can put in some candy and gum. Add items such as lip glosses or shower gels for the girls and baseball cards or a hand held game for the boys. A gift certificate for Mc Donald's or a pass to the movies are always a great item. For your teen a good book, magazine subscription, gift certificates for stores or restaurants, gas card, CD's or DVD's are all things they would like. Some homemade heart sugar cookies are usually welcomed at any age.
Arrange items in basket and fill with some red tootsie roll pops for color.

Special Day Heart:

Make your child a heart card with the day planned out on it. Such as:

Breakfast of pancakes, strawberries and whip cream
Ride to school
Dinner at Mc Donald's
Movie or read a special story at home with lots of hugs and kisses

What ever you do if it is done with Love, they will love it.
